Today, I finally worked up the nerve to text the girl I've had a crush on to ask her on a date. I got back the reply, "Error message 3265: Number No Longer In Swrvice." Not only can she not spell, when I looked it up, "error 3265" doesn't even exist. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I finally got the girl of my dreams' phone number. After texting her "Hey, is this Stephanie?" I got response saying "Sorry bro, I know how you feel, she did the same thing to me." FML
Help
Today, feeling so depressed to the point of having suicidal thoughts, I texted a girl I had a crush on. Her response? "Can you please delete my number, you're getting annoying." FML
Today, I got my crush's phone number. I started texting him and once I told him who it was, he stopped replying. FML
Mean girls
Today, I finally got the guts to text this cute girl at school. I started sending flirtatious texts, only to find out the hard way that she'd given me her boyfriend's number. FML
Blocking time
Today, this weird girl started texting me. I really didn't want to talk to her, so I texted back, "This message could not be delivered because of a temporery network setup error. Error 2128-226110." She replied, "You spelt temporary wrong." FML
Today, at 1am, the girl of my dreams that I've been trying for over three years to date, finally asked me out via SMS. Too bad I was asleep at the time. She now thinks I've rejected her, and will no longer speak to me. FML
Who the **** are you?
Today, I finally mustered up the courage to send a message to the girl I've been crushing on for years. I'm now blocked. FML
Today, I gathered the courage to ask my crush on a date. As I called her, she quickly answered and said "Can't talk right now, I'm in a movie theater." and then hung up. I'd called her home phone. FML
Today, I texted this girl that I really like. I got a message back saying "Your message to 903-***-**** could not go through due to a disconnection, thanks, Alltel services." I overheard her later at lunch saying she sent the message, and laughed with her friends about it. FML
Crossed wires
Today, I was preparing for a date with an amazing woman I'd been talking to for two weeks. An hour before our date, I sent a check-in text; no response. After about 30 minutes, I reset my phone as a last hope and received her message from TWO HOURS BEFORE, checking in with me. I'm now blocked with no way to explain. FML

Uh, well maybe you shouldn't have asked her via text. And maybe she's straight.

What's wrong with asking for a date via a text? It's not like she was proposing or anything...

No, I think childish would be defined as harshly judging someone by the method they they choose to ask people on dates with o.O Texts are casual and relaxed, first dates are casual and relaxed... see where I'm going here?

Paperfox, you may be okay with asking people out on dates via text or being ask out by text, but I would say a large number of people would not be. Asking someone out on a first date (or even the first couple of dates) is impersonal... literally just words on a screen. Asking in person or over the phone at least gives you the benefit of seeing the person, hearing their voice, or just getting a feel for who they are and the chemistry you may or may not have. I guess we're adapting to technology, but some things I feel should still be done the old-fashioned way.

I love how the 'old fashioned' way is actually calling someone to ask them out. Texting is one of the most impersonal ways to ask someone out, other than a facebook messege or wall post. Asking someone out via a text, especially a first date, is just plain idiotic. If she really wants to go out with this girl, she should ask her out in person. It makes the other person feel as if they're not really worth picking up the phone. Everyone is so hung up on texting it's ridiculous. I grew up without a cell phone and without the regular use of the internet and I"m just fricking dandy.

try through a group of people, I got asked out that way, could not take it seriously what so ever, now I have a strict ask me out to my face policy and the next guy to even think about using somebody to ask me out will be breathing from a tube....

I may be old-fashioned too, but a first date should at least be on the phone. Did the girl he was texting even know he had a crush on her? At least if you're talking, you can get some clue what the other person is thinking.
