Today, I finally told my father that I was picked on at college all this year over my hearing disability. When I told him one of the jokes they made about me, he burst out into an uncontrollable fit of laughter. FML

Today, my dad had fun embarrassing me as much as possible in my parent-teacher conference by moaning whenever the teacher talked. FML
Today, I decided to open up to my friends about losing my dad last year. To my horror, all they could do was laugh at and mock me, all because I said that he "unalived" himself. FML
Today, my dad was teasing me, saying a guy would have to be blind to go on a date with me. I then introduced him to my new, visually impaired boyfriend. He hasn't stopped laughing. FML
Today, I finally stood up for myself and beat the crap out of a bully at school, as my father told me to do. The kid and I were called to the principal's office, along with our parents. Inside my father's smirk faded when he saw that the kid's mom was his boss. FML
Today, I told my dad I was going to the gym. He stood up and clapped. FML
Today, my therapist started laughing at me whilst I was telling my story. He said, "Sorry, I can't help it" and burst out laughing. FML
Today, I was at work, reading some funny stories on my phone. Just as one of my co-workers decided to share that his father had passed away recently, I burst into uncontrollable, teary-eyed laughter at a story. They don't believe my explanation, and have branded me the office asshole. FML
Today, my dad was driving me to college. I'd cracked a joke about how old people like him shouldn't be allowed to drive, and I guess he took it personally, what with him speeding straight up to the parking lot wall, and only braking after I started shrieking in terror. FML
Today, I arrived home after leaving for college in August. My dad figured that the most appropriate way to welcome me back was a loud, piercing fart right when I walked through the front door. FML

I'm hard of hearing, and so is my boyfriend. Never take shame in your hearing, it's really not that big of a deal. Deaf community would totally accept and support you! Learn some sign language, you'll need that when you're older and deaf;)

78, it's really not. There was a woman in my counseling class who is hard of hearing and she carried a microphone with her and give it to the teacher and she'd record too. She always told us and said she didn't want people treating her differently and when we spoke to her to not yell either. Lol. Although one time she was giving a presentation and didn't know how to pronounce a word. We tried helping her by saying it and she said "what? I can't hear you guys remember!" haha talk about awkward x)

It sucks, but I'd probably do the same thing. It doesn't mean he doesn't care about you. Just some things are really funny. Don't let it bother you too much. And screw people at college, they can be dicks. Just gotta grow a thick skin. It's not a reflection upon your personality. Cause everyone gets dealt different cards.
