Today, I donated to a charity website. My card was repeatedly refused by the website but when I went on my account, I was charged for each time I tried. I was scammed by a charity. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out that because I, like many others, don't read the terms and conditions, I accidentally donated £200 to a charity because of a non-refundable payment on a volunteering trip. It's my parents' money. FML
Today, I got stopped by people asking for donations for their charity services. Being who I am, I hate saying no to people, so I told them, "I don't have any money, only my card." Did you know they also accept payment by card? FML
Scammers gonna scam
Today, I found out that the $100,000 scholarship I "won" was a scam. I found it on a website. When I won, they asked for a "processing fee" that I begged my brother to let me borrow. The website has vanished into internet wasteland and I have no way of paying back the money. FML
Today, I found out that, after offering to fill out my student aid application for me, my mother sent all of my personal information to a scam site instead. FML
Scammed
Today, I found out that I'm just one of the millions who got scammed by what seemed to be a legit website. None of the negative reviews or bugs appeared until after I spent a fortune of someone else’s money on a server that will never arrive. FML
Make it make sense
Today, I had to contact my bank because their fraud department thought me buying gifts for 7 different people for Christmas was fraud. It wouldn't be a big deal, except they then wouldn't accept the original purchase and I had to go to the website to get the purchase to go through a second time. My bank is paranoid. FML
Bullet = Dodged
Today, while paying for dinner, my card declined and my date immediately left. The waitress then ran my card again successfully. FML
Can't buy me love
Today, I realized while paying bills on my phone I fat-fingered which credit card I was paying and sent 299 to a paid-off card instead of 200 to another one. Now I'm going to have overdraft fees too. FML
Scammers gonna scam
Today, I had a vulnerable day, which led me to being scammed 2400 dollars, worried about something that a simple Google search and five seconds of reading would've rectified. FML
Today, my girlfriend received a scam email about her great uncle dying and leaving her money. She not only believed it, but she also used my credit card details for it. FML

I hope they really use that money for charity.

I wouldn't be convinced they are a charity.

Robin Hood?

Why would you automatically assume it is a fake charity? Sounds like computer error to me. Contact your bank and they'll reverse the duplicate charges. No big deal.

Is there any law against that?

It is probably just a computer glitch. OP can call his card company and get thr charges reversed.

most likely not a double charge usually does not happen because if they cared about your credit card they would have a protection program for viruses that also in turn fights charging twice without a delay

And that's why I donate material goods to two institutions I know and trust. I give study books, notebooks, writing paper, clothes and furniture that are still in good condition but that i don't need anymore. Never money.
