Today, I discovered that most of my family is homophobic while discussing Orange Is The New Black. I've only come out to my sister. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
About that...
Today, my brother came out to our parents. They weren't super happy with it, but they said that it was ok since they still had a straight son. I don't know how to tell them that I'm gay too. FML
Assumptions…
Today, my sister gently asked me if I was gay. Turns out I've been without a boyfriend for so long that the whole family believes I secretly have a girlfriend. FML
Supportive
Today, my sister came out as lesbian and my parents kicked her out of the house. I was also kicked out for supporting her. FML
Today, a brief survey of everyone I know revealed that everyone, including my parents, sibling, and best friends, thinks I'm gay. I had to do the first reverse coming out in history. FML
Today, I came out to my therapist as gay. Claiming that my parents "can't be that homophobic", my therapist outed me to them. They kicked me out of the house. FML
Casual homophobia
Today, I came out to my parents and siblings as gay. They were very accepting and asked me why I waited until I was 25 to do so. I didn't have the heart to tell them it was their own homophobic remarks that kept me closeted since I realized it at 14, and that a previous coming-out to a parent was dismissed as 'a phase'. FML
Follow the lifescript
Today, I came out to my parents as lesbian. Surprisingly, they were OK with it… just as long as I still marry a dude, give them grandbabies, and keep the whole lesbian thing a deep, dark, shameful secret that we never talk about again. FML
Congratulations
Today, my step-sister told me that she was getting married to her girlfriend next summer. At a big family brunch, I made a toast to their marriage. I didn't know that my step-mom didn't know they were dating in the first place, or that she was severely homophobic. FML
Keeping up
Today, I found out that my mother has been telling everybody that I’m a lesbian, because both of her best friends have at least one gay child each, and she was feeling left out. This explains why people have been treating me differently the last few weeks. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me that he is homophobic. This wouldn't be such a big deal, if my mother wasn't a lesbian. He doesn't know this yet, and I'm afraid to tell him. FML

If you need help; youth beyond blue and pflag are good places to start in regards to family, good luck OP!

Sometimes people become less judgmental and more open-minded after finding out their loved one is gay. Hopefully that will the case with your family. Good luck!

You shouldn't have to worry, OP! Family is supposed to be there for you through thick and thin and if they truly love and care for you, they will accept you as you are!

Wether the outcome is good or bad, you shouldn't have to hide your true self, **** everyone's opinion. Yours should be the only one that matters. I LOVE YOU

And if OP gets kicked out?

Coming out to homophobic people, or most religious people is an extremely bad idea. Teens get kicked out of their homes, some people get severely beaten, some people get worse things. Very few cases do people actually get a relatively positive reaction. Coming out to accepting, or general non-homophobic people is hard to begin with for a lot of people, anyways

I'm sorry OP :( Even if they are not comfortable with it just remember that there are people out there who will love and accept you for who you are. Best wishes with your family.

Good luck with your family, OP. If they can't see past your sexuality to love who you are as a person, it's their loss, and you know you're better off finding your own family of people who will respect and care for you no matter what.

Do you mean they're afraid of your sexuality or they disagree with it?

I bet most of the people who put YDI are homophobic pricks

Some people accidentally tap on YDI when scrolling on a mobile screen and there's no way to undo it.

Try talking about Holes...it's not too different and it's guys... No sex is given but it's almost the same thing...just no homosexual relationships...
