Today, I came out to my mom as a lesbian. She told me that it was impossible, because since she isn't one, she therefore couldn't have given birth to one. She still won't believe me. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my mom barged into my room, threw 5 boxes of condoms at me, then said, "So you don't get pregnant". She still hasn't accepted the fact that I'm a lesbian. FML
Today, my mom called me into the living room to say that she had something important to tell me. She then explained how she and my dad had "talked things over" and wanted me to know that they accept me and love me no matter what. Apparently my mom thinks I'm lesbian. I'm not. FML
Cold reading bullshit merchant
Today, my mom went to a psychic. The reason? She has convinced herself that I'm gay, even though I've told her that I'm not, and never have been. The psychic disagreed. Apparently, I'm bi-curious with one of my guy friends. Guess who my mom believes? FML
Denial
Today, at 18, I finally told my mom I was gay. She spent the rest of the day bringing up my "future wife" at every possible chance she had. FML
Today, I came out to my mom. I had an epic speech planned, and when I tried to tell her, it all fell apart and I started crying and just said, "I'm gay." After a few seconds silence, my mom sighs and says, "Duh." FML
Today, my mom tried to convince my dad that I was a lesbian. Why? Because she was bored. FML
Today, after being out of the closet for over three years, I learned that some of my friends still don't believe me that I am really a lesbian. They still think I made the whole thing up because I can't get a man. FML
Keeping up
Today, I found out that my mother has been telling everybody that I’m a lesbian, because both of her best friends have at least one gay child each, and she was feeling left out. This explains why people have been treating me differently the last few weeks. FML
Today, I learned that despite having told them two years ago, my parents still aren't accepting of me being gay. I found this out when my mom called and asked if I was "cured" yet. FML
Follow the lifescript
Today, I came out to my parents as lesbian. Surprisingly, they were OK with it… just as long as I still marry a dude, give them grandbabies, and keep the whole lesbian thing a deep, dark, shameful secret that we never talk about again. FML

Well, at least you didn't get your logic from her. Clearly, you are the smarter lass.

I'm sorry, but your mother is an idiot. Or she is in denial. Either one will work.

You should bring home a girlfriend, that'll really show her!

*rolls eyes* You're right 28, OP should compromise her happiness and never date a girl because it'll rock the boat at home.

94 - There's a difference between bringing somebody home to meet your parents and bringing somebody home to 'show' your parents. The latter means more for a type of revenge or hostility whereas with the former it could have to do with serious feelings. *rolls eyes* That's not saying OP should never bring a girl home and compromise her happiness, it's just showing respect.

126, I do understand that but if you read other comments by Meme1988 you'll see that she's more or less implying that bringing a girl home would fuel her mother's rage, even if that's not the intent.

Homosexuality is wrong. Not trying to judge or be mean, just stating the truth.
music_woman1 11
I think by truth you meant *opinion I don't think there's anything wrong with it, and I'm not the only one in saying that there is no truth in that statement
music_woman1 11
Give her time to think about it and if she's still in denial then sit her down as explain to her that it's not a phase and if she loves you she'll accept you for who you are
krewer21 1
Tell her it was a recessive gene that she and your dad has, so it was bound to happen. I mean if she cant accept the truth make up one heck of a genetic story!

what kind of insensitive jack-ass parents are out there? I guess it takes all kinds, but total denial of something THAT important to your kid plain reels of douche

It's normal for religious parents.

Yea you must not live in the south.. There is NO tolerance here.. I mean there are the .01% but majority think its a disease.. Quite sad actually.

I imagine parents each have their own ways to react with these things. Clearly your moms was this. I wouldn't think to hard on it, it was prolly the shock.
MissMae93 23
Prolly? That's not a word, by the way. I think you're looking for "probably".
Michael_92 20
I read you love English. I'm sure I prolly ;) annoyed you with that didn't I?
DocBastard 40
Wiccanbeauty - Not to put too fine a point on it, but I can't literally see you do anything since you're all the way over there and I'm all the way over here.

She will probably believe you once you introduce her to your girlfriend.
IndianGiver 8
Yea. Introduce me to her as your girlfriend and we'll see where it goes from there!

I think your mom is in denial about her own homosexuality. If you're a lesbian, then obviously she is too. F your mom's L for living a lie all this time.
MissMae93 23
Seriously? I really hope you're joking.

MissMae03--- yur cute :$ and correct...

If lesbians were the only people who could give birth to lesbians, then there would be no more lesbians.
the_true_batman 10
Obviously there would be none, except for the fact that society makes gays feel bad so some live a lie and have kids.
the_true_batman 10
@Eleventy-one: I was actually joking, using the mom's logic the other way. The mother would have to conclude either her daughter is straight or she herself is a lesbian. I just decided to come to the other conclusion she could have come to. It always amazes me how literally people will read comments. Unless your sarcasm is laid on thicker than Ron Jeremy's ****, people will miss it.
julia62442 9
Why do people always take these comments so seriously? I knew it was a joke and laughed when I read it.
KiiwiiRox 6
It happens. She's hopefully one that goes into denial, then when she realizes you're serious, she doesn't care what gender you love. Good luck with that. Just hope to God she doesn't disown you cause I wouldn't wish that on anyone. It's a horrible feeling...
Michael_92 20
I couldn't even imagine a parent doing that to their own child. It's not like it's something you can control. You like who you like and that's that.
rivaraven 35
Well, I'm gay and I would have been quite amused, if my father thought that way. But good luck with getting her to believe you!
