Today, I am currently grounded for three weeks, have no car, cell phone, or television privileges, and am not allowed to spend more than 10 minutes on the computer a day. The reason why: I was seven minutes past my 9'oclock curfew. I'm 18. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was grounded for not agreeing with an article on dating my mom found in a very strict magazine. The article told parents to monitor phone calls, make rumors about their children cheating on people, and not allow their children anywhere but home. FML
Judge and jury
Today, I turned 18 and I’m now subject to adult discipline. My dad says I will no longer be grounded or have my phone taken away, but I have three strikes and if I get to three, he’s throwing me out to get my own house. He then gave me my first strike because I was 30 minutes late picking up my nana. FML
Today, I'm a 22 year-old guy with a 11:00 pm curfew. FML
Today, my dad learned how to use the parental controls. I now have an 11 o'clock curfew. I am 17. FML
You gotta be kidding me?
Today, my mom scolded me and threatened to ground me for coming home past midnight. Normally, it wouldn't be unreasonable, except for the fact that I'm 24 years-old, and that my parents live with me, in my own house. FML
Today, my mum took away my laptop and my phone and won't let me call, text, or go out with friends for one month. Why? I left the toilet seat up. I'm writing this from a public library. FML
Today, I was given a call home, a 3-day-suspension, and a week of detention in school for a "serious violation of the code of conduct." Said violation? Jogging in the middle of the hall. FML
Logic
Today, I was grounded by my mom because I had slept in past 11, when she wanted me to wake up at seven to do chores. According to her logic, I should have seen the note she left on the counter earlier this morning. FML
How very dare you?
Today, I told my mom about the couple of times that I'd skipped classes during high school. She got really mad and grounded me for a month. That would usually be normal except for the fact that I'm 27 and live in my own apartment. FML
Bad grandma
Today, I'm grounded for literally the whole summer because my parents found out that I was still seeing my grandma behind their backs, even though they banned her from ever seeing us again after she spanked my sister. FML

That's nothing, I was going to college 3,000 miles away, living on my own and was working to support myself. I went home to visit my parents for a month and the second week I went over to my friend's house and we were drinking. My dad called and could tell I was a little drunk, he came over at midnight, dragged me home and I was grounded for the rest of the time I was visiting them.

Why is everyone acting like an 18 year-old should get out of their parents house and get a job? The OP never said they don't have a job. And they are 18- probably just graduated high school. I'm 19, have a job, and GUESS WHAT- my parents paid for my car. So technically, if they want to ground me from it, they have every right. You don't know the situation. It seems the OP's parents probably bought them a car when they were 16, and obviously the OP never bothered to save up for a car- if your parents handed you one, why would you? Because you probably DON'T have parents like this, so stop acting like you know exactly how they could get out of this. It's not as simple as talking to the parents, or moving out- hello! The economy is in absolute SHAMBLES! I'll guarantee if the OP does have a job they don't make nearly enough money to support themselves. But just because their parents support them doesn't make it right to control the OP like that. I've never in my life heard of an 18-year-old having a 9pm curfew. As soon as the OP gets an ounce of freedom- whether it be at college, when they move out, whatever- they are going to go buck wild and party like we all did when we were 16, and probably end up even worse.
