Today, I am currently grounded for three weeks, have no car, cell phone, or television privileges, and am not allowed to spend more than 10 minutes on the computer a day. The reason why: I was seven minutes past my 9'oclock curfew. I'm 18. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was grounded for not agreeing with an article on dating my mom found in a very strict magazine. The article told parents to monitor phone calls, make rumors about their children cheating on people, and not allow their children anywhere but home. FML
Judge and jury
Today, I turned 18 and I’m now subject to adult discipline. My dad says I will no longer be grounded or have my phone taken away, but I have three strikes and if I get to three, he’s throwing me out to get my own house. He then gave me my first strike because I was 30 minutes late picking up my nana. FML
Today, I'm a 22 year-old guy with a 11:00 pm curfew. FML
Today, my dad learned how to use the parental controls. I now have an 11 o'clock curfew. I am 17. FML
You gotta be kidding me?
Today, my mom scolded me and threatened to ground me for coming home past midnight. Normally, it wouldn't be unreasonable, except for the fact that I'm 24 years-old, and that my parents live with me, in my own house. FML
Today, my mum took away my laptop and my phone and won't let me call, text, or go out with friends for one month. Why? I left the toilet seat up. I'm writing this from a public library. FML
Today, I was given a call home, a 3-day-suspension, and a week of detention in school for a "serious violation of the code of conduct." Said violation? Jogging in the middle of the hall. FML
Logic
Today, I was grounded by my mom because I had slept in past 11, when she wanted me to wake up at seven to do chores. According to her logic, I should have seen the note she left on the counter earlier this morning. FML
How very dare you?
Today, I told my mom about the couple of times that I'd skipped classes during high school. She got really mad and grounded me for a month. That would usually be normal except for the fact that I'm 27 and live in my own apartment. FML
Bad grandma
Today, I'm grounded for literally the whole summer because my parents found out that I was still seeing my grandma behind their backs, even though they banned her from ever seeing us again after she spanked my sister. FML

I will not add to your YDI score, but dude... you're an adult. If you're not going to get a job, a room mate and a real life away from your folks, yes, you do deserve it. As long as you're living at home for free, eating your mom's home-cooked meals, you waive all rights to be treated like an adult. You probably just graduated from high school, and your adulthood is as weird for your folks as it is for you. Their roof their rules. I just wish I liked my family enough to be in your situation. I'd be home at nine ever night and not a minute later. Paying rent and buying food ******* sucks. I'm 28, and it's still weird going to the store, walking around with a cart with soap, deodorant, paper towels and zucchini. I hate being an adult. Meanwhile, you're pissing your borrowed childhood away. WTF is WRONG with you? You have a sweet deal. Quit your complaining. If you want to exercise your adulthood without pissing your parents off, get a lottery ticket, go to an adult sex shop and go buy a pack of cloves before they're illegal (don't get me started on THAT tangent. Shit. And I VOTED for Obama. Grrrrr...)

dude... that really sucks. you're 18, you shouldn't have to deal with such strict rules. True, you are 18 and living under your parents roof, but come on, any parent with even a hint of common sense would not do that. and you guys it's not just like "okay imma get off my ass and get a job!" it's not that easy it's hard to get a job especially nowadays with the economy and all and if you don't have previous experience. If I was the OP I would move out as soon as possible but maybe he can't cause it's not always so easy to start supporting yourself. I were you I wouldn't give a **** about my parents and stay out as late as I'd want. If they'd complain about it, I'd move out, crash at my friends place or do anything to get out. I mean come on that's just not right

curfews should be the hour of your grade, 12th grade...12 o'clock. Except girls, sheltered high school girls supply colleges with the hoes they need...
