Today, I am currently grounded for three weeks, have no car, cell phone, or television privileges, and am not allowed to spend more than 10 minutes on the computer a day. The reason why: I was seven minutes past my 9'oclock curfew. I'm 18. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was grounded for not agreeing with an article on dating my mom found in a very strict magazine. The article told parents to monitor phone calls, make rumors about their children cheating on people, and not allow their children anywhere but home. FML
Judge and jury
Today, I turned 18 and I’m now subject to adult discipline. My dad says I will no longer be grounded or have my phone taken away, but I have three strikes and if I get to three, he’s throwing me out to get my own house. He then gave me my first strike because I was 30 minutes late picking up my nana. FML
Today, I'm a 22 year-old guy with a 11:00 pm curfew. FML
Today, my dad learned how to use the parental controls. I now have an 11 o'clock curfew. I am 17. FML
You gotta be kidding me?
Today, my mom scolded me and threatened to ground me for coming home past midnight. Normally, it wouldn't be unreasonable, except for the fact that I'm 24 years-old, and that my parents live with me, in my own house. FML
Today, my mum took away my laptop and my phone and won't let me call, text, or go out with friends for one month. Why? I left the toilet seat up. I'm writing this from a public library. FML
Today, I was given a call home, a 3-day-suspension, and a week of detention in school for a "serious violation of the code of conduct." Said violation? Jogging in the middle of the hall. FML
Logic
Today, I was grounded by my mom because I had slept in past 11, when she wanted me to wake up at seven to do chores. According to her logic, I should have seen the note she left on the counter earlier this morning. FML
How very dare you?
Today, I told my mom about the couple of times that I'd skipped classes during high school. She got really mad and grounded me for a month. That would usually be normal except for the fact that I'm 27 and live in my own apartment. FML
Bad grandma
Today, I'm grounded for literally the whole summer because my parents found out that I was still seeing my grandma behind their backs, even though they banned her from ever seeing us again after she spanked my sister. FML

I understand what you mean. I'm 18, going into my second year of college. My curfew is still 10, but I don't get punished for it unless I stay out past 12. But.. they have this expectation still of me to come home at 10. Honestly, I don't get why people say move out and because you didn't, YDI. But most 18 year olds can't support themselves right out of high school. I go to USC, my parents are paying for my tuition. If I don't follow their ridiculous rules, I don't get to go to school. Harsh, but it happens. It'll be better when you're off at school and DORM if you can. I had so much freedom and could go out whenever I wanted when I was at school. But when I came home (like I am now) I'm expected to be home early. Don't think you're the only one. ;) Are you Asian? I'm Asian. Damn Asians.

This is exactly why I'm leaving the moment I turn 18.

You're life is ******, and your parents are BEYOND uptight. That's just sad :(. Don't they realize they have to set you free someday, and when they do, you'll go crazy cause you had so little freedom before? They're doing more harm than good by enforcing rules as stupid as that.
