Today, barely 2 hours into a 5 hour car ride home, my mom accidentally let slip that she's been cheating on my dad. I had to sit with the bitch in a diner for ages while my dad bawled his eyes out alone in the car. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste

Today, I illicitly borrowed my dad's car to go to the store, but crashed into my mom's car as she and dad were returning from my grandma's house. Both cars are totalled, my mom is in hospital with a broken collarbone, and I realised dads really can make steam come out their ears if they’re really mad. FML
Two in one
Today, I accidentally crashed my mom's car into my dad's car. FML
Today, my dad and I got into an argument, and he ended up calling me a son of a bitch. My mom heard and started arguing with him over him calling her a bitch. Three hours later, I'm now staying at my gran's house with my mom and hoping her threats of a divorce weren't for real. FML
Today, I found out my boyfriend cheated on me. We're in the middle of nowhere and have a 4-hour drive home. FML
Today, I had to share a car with my dad and stepmother. My stepmother managed to get hammered at lunch and spent the hour-long car trip drunkenly mistaking the heating controls for the radio. FML
Welcome home!
Today, I had an appointment. After 2 hours of waiting in the sun, my mom finally picked me up and lectured me on how irresponsible my dad was for not communicating with her. Not 5 minutes after I got home, my dad showed up and gave me the same exact lecture about my mom. FML
Today, my parents had a huge fight because my mom found out my dad was cheating on her. They screamed for half an hour. Right in the middle of my wedding. FML
Today, I came home in tears after my boyfriend admitted to cheating on me. My dad told me to sit down and tell him everything. He's pretty eccentric, so I wasn't fazed when he put on a pair of sunglasses. When I stopped talking, I noticed his mouth was slightly agape and he was snoring. FML
Bread is serious stuff
Today, it's my 6-year anniversary with my fiance, but due to a lot of different family issues, I had to drive 9 hours with my dad to go visit them. Long story short, there was a giant argument about bread, my dad stormed out and I'm left to deal with this shit storm. FML
Lost
Today, my parents started fighting at a restaurant. Embarrassed, I went to the restroom to get away and stayed in there for about 15 minutes, knowing how long their fights can last. When I came back, they were gone. They'd ditched me, and left me to walk several miles back home. FML

That's the saddest thing I've ever read. What a bitch

I'm so sorry OP. Obviously it's not good to say ALL the blame goes to your mother, but I hope you told her what you think of what she did. That really sucks and I would've left her in the diner. I know there are technically worse things than cheating but nothing pisses me off more

Really? Who else do they have to blame for it? Are you really going to use the 'marriage comes from both sides' excuse? That is incredibly lame. Yes, a marriage comes from both sides, but if the marriage is bad enough for her to cheat, she should have at the very least talked to her husband first. Either fix it or end it. There is only ONE person who choose to cheat and that is her. So she carries all the blame for this.

I don't think it's so cut and dry though, honestly very very few things in life are that black and white. We don't know if she did talk to him previously, or if she's already talking divorce and dad not wanting too. Yes she totally deserves all the blame for not handling the situation well, but I highly doubt it's as simple as this. People do make mistakes. My mum cheated on my dad (which she had discussed her unhappiness with the marriage and he ignored it) she finally confessed, they had a melt down, worked through it and are still together doing much much better now. Both of my parents were in the wrong one for cheating and one for totally ignoring the others feelings to begin with.. things happen and in relationships (aside from abusive ones) it's almost never just one sided. I would never in a million years call my mum a bitch though, despite disagreeing greatly with how she handled it.

That ******* sucks. I would've called her out in front of the entire diner. What a bitch

Personally, I would have yelled 'Let's see your side boyfriend get you out of this one bitch!' thrown whatever cup of water there was onto her face, ran out of the diner, hopped into the car and drove off with my father. But that's just what I would do. Chin up though OP, I'm sure your father is a good man and he will find someone more deserving of his love.

What goes on between your mom and dad is their business and not yours. So stay out of it and show them both love and don't come on here calling your mom a bitch cause that's ****** up.....

Oh look, someone with no morals and no brain.

I'm with you on this one, #63

thank god I'm not the only one:)

#63 actually makes a good point. I think people are forgetting that this is OPs mother. this isn't some random woman. this woman gave this kid life. just because he chose to call her a bitch from a place of anger and confusion doesn't give everyone else the right to tell him to ditch her. honestly OPs mom needs to apologize to OP and then handle the situation with her husband in private. my bf is a child of divorce and he hated his mother because of her infidelity. but I would never allow him to say such things about her. and good parents would refrain from putting each other down no matter the reason. if my mother, who was beaten by my brothers father, can refrain from shit talking him in front of my brother then I expect everyone is capable of acting civil.

So what you're telling us is that calling the mom a bitch is ****** up (even though it's more of an understatement if anything) but her cheating on her husband is not? I don't give a crap who you are if you're cheating on someone you're the lowest form of scum, and it is OP's business because it affects them just the same. The only ****** up thing here is you defending the Mom.
Shade1982 21
Except for one thing. It ISN'T just their business. What happens between two parents will affect everyone in the family, not just the two of them. So op has every right to judge his mother for cheating on her husband.

Can't agree more. But in the first shock someone might feel the need for stronger language to cope with this feelings. I feel so sorry for the dad crying in the car and if it was my father I might feel this way, too. But hopefully OP learns to cope with things as you put it in words.

Maybe people not finding appropriate calling your mother 'a bitch' umder whatever circumstances? I voted on both.

So not just assholes and trolls, but regular old idiots like #64 too. Ok.
