Today, my dad and I got into an argument, and he ended up calling me a son of a bitch. My mom heard and started arguing with him over him calling her a bitch. Three hours later, I'm now staying at my gran's house with my mom and hoping her threats of a divorce weren't for real. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Fun for all the family
Today, my mom and dad got into a fight, during which my dad said to my mom that her health conditions were of her own doing. Because of that, I got pissed and had a fight with my dad, taking my mom's side. Turns out, my mom took his side and ratted me out. FML
Ironic, isn't it?
Today, I got into an argument with my mother, when she snapped and called me a son of a bitch. I said that made no sense, because I'm a girl, and it'd only really confirm that she's a bitch. She then grounded me for insulting her. FML
If it was intentional…
Today, we had an argument and my husband called my mother right in front me. Two minutes later, she was on his side and yelling at me on FaceTime that I’m a bad wife, a pain in the ass, and a nagging bitch. The argument was about him leaving tools around for me to step on and cut my foot open with. FML
Blood is thicker than shit
Today, my father is living with me because he's broke, but sometimes he has temper tantrums and calls me a son of a bitch. I can't stand to be name-called when I support him 1000%, and then we got into a violent physical fight. We both end up hurt, so I want to kick him out of my house, but I can't because he won't leave. FML
Stand up for yourself
Today, I overheard my mom’s boyfriend viciously berating and verbally abusing her. I got in his face and started yelling that he can’t talk to her that way. He stormed out and we haven’t heard from him since. Now my mom is pissed and wants to kick me out for “ruining” her relationship. Sorry I guess. FML
Come back
Today, after I got into an argument with mom's boyfriend, telling him to piss off because no one wanted him, and he did so, saying he was done putting in wasted effort, now he's gone I realise how much he did for us, or that his share of the bills paid the rent. We may lose our house because of me. FML
Today, I got into an argument with my dad in his hotel room. I lost my temper and stormed out onto the balcony for some fresh air, at which point he decided to lock the door behind me, trapping me there for half an hour while he watched TV. FML
Today, my mother and I got into an argument, and she told me to go to my room. I refused, prompting her to slap the shit out of me. I'm 29, and she was visiting me at my own house. FML
On my own again, naturally
Today, I got into an argument with my mom over her sexist, emotionally-abusive boyfriend. I told her that either he goes or I go. She called me a disrespectful bastard for not respecting my "new father." I'm now sitting outside a McDonald's with my suitcase, leeching their WiFi. FML
Today, during a heated argument with my son, I lost my temper and called him a son of a bitch. He enthusiastically agreed. FML

why did she need to drag you into this?
capslockisgood 19
10 because once its in an fml that situation can no longer be achieved by anyone else

I don't know why she had to drag herself into it.. She couldn't have been dumb enough to have actually thought he was insulting her with that comment.

Dropping the "D" word should be forbidden. (Unless it's a serious discussion.)

2 didn't even use the letter D in her comment.

I am so sorry, after thinking a little, I realized that 16's comment had nothing to do with 2's comment.

Just throwing this out there: my parents attempted to get divorced and "re-patched" their marriage. A year later they divorced for real. I've been so much happier since.

I feel you, #24. My parents are still married, but it's gotten to the point where both their children have told them multiple times to just split up already. I honestly can't believe that seeing them go through a divorce when me and my sister were still younger would've been more damaging than watching them make each other unhappy instead. Sometimes, staying together for the kids is NOT the best option for said kids.

I'm going to dare to venture that the issues go beyond this bitch episode...

well that escalated quickly

I'm sure there are other issues you don't know about, and this was just your mom's final breaking point... Don't feel like it's your fault for arguing with your dad OP, cause it's not.

I've been coming here for years now, and I'm /still/ boggled as to why anyone would say YDI. Like, how is this OP's fault? What happened between his mother and father ultimately has no tie in OP's part.
Kindroth 12
My guess would be trolls or people trying to get the award for giving a certain amount of ydi's
Hiimhaileypotter 53
And some people accidentally click the wrong button sometimes. This question is asked on every FML where it's obviously not OP's fault :P
natp1982 2
what #33 said. I've accidentally clicked the YDI button 2 or 3 times, but I'm sure some people are just trolling.

Kind of an asshole move for your dad to call you a son of bitch
quiet_storm09 17
Yeah I agree. What the hell could OP and his dad been arguing about so strongly enough to call his own kid names? I'm distressed...

I would figure the conversation directed toward you wouldn't have set your mom off but I guess that's the way it went
