Today, as a support worker, I spent 45 minutes making various attempts to calm a violent autistic kid. Just as soon as I was sure the crisis was over, he beat me as hard as he could with the "Things I Can Do When I'm Mad" book I'd given him. FML

How unfortunate. That, and a tad bit ironic. Perhaps he gave the book a good use after all.

Shoulda given him the book "how to make sweet passionate love to a woman".

I run the office at a company that does similar work. My staff have stories like this all the time. Sorry you had a bad day, OP. But thank you, for devoting your career to helping people. Good support workers are so hard to find, and this is why.

OH THE IRONY!

You have noble profession, and you have my respect for that, but you knew what you were getting into dealing with the mentally handicapped.

Well, he used the book.

When all else fails, you can always bring in Bruce Willis.

what?!? has anybody ever told you that you're an idiot?
