Today, I was talking to a guy I met online and have known for four years. I've fallen in love with him twice, one of those times being currently. He was supposed to visit this summer. I got an email from him saying he's really a 17 year-old girl from Chesterfield, MO. FML
Today, I found out that the 19-year-old I've been seeing is really 26, with two kids and a pregnant fiancée. I'm only 17. FML
Today, I went out to meet a wonderful woman I'd chatted with online. I did have a few fears about if she was really just some guy trying to make a fool out of me. When I met her, she really was a girl, and was happy to see me. Problem: she was actually 13. I'm 34. FML
Today, I went on a 70-mile drive to the next town over to finally meet this beautiful girl I had talked to online. To my surprise, she looked exactly how she did in her pictures, minus the ring on her finger and the fiancé who wanted to punch me in the face. FML
Today, the boy that I met online six months ago and expressed my love to sent me a picture of himself and confessed how old he really was: thirteen. I'm eighteen years old and holding a steady job. FML
Today, I flew to California to visit my younger sister at college. When I got to her house, her boyfriend looks at her and says, "She's not THAT ugly." FML
Today, I met and asked a cute girl out on a date. We decided to meet at a fancy restaurant downtown. When I got there I saw her sitting with what turned out to be her parents. They made a huge scene, calling me a pedophile and a low-life. Apparently, the girl was 16 years-old. I'm 25. FML
Today, I found out the 28-year-old I am dating is actually 48. FML
Today, completely excited, I told my mom about this guy from high school that I had really liked and who had found me on Facebook. He said he regretted not asking me out in high school and offered to fly me out to visit him. Her response? "Has he seen what you look like now?" FML
Today, I thought my online boyfriend was calling me, so the first line I said was "Hey, Baby." His wife answered with, "This is Jenny. Who's this?" After speaking for thirty minutes, I found out he's married, fifty-eight, and has two kids. I'm seventeen. FML

just because he might be 18 or 19 doesn't make it okay to date a 17, I'd rather wait till there 18 then go to jail or have a "pedophile" mark on my record. Why did it take so long for you two to contact on another anyway, I'm assuming that you two talked for awhile anyway, unless you met them online and two days later decided "hey, maybe I should fly down and see you"

Wait wait, so 17 is not an age of consent? (sorry, not from US) In most of the western world the age of consent is no higher than 16. Above that what happens in one's bedroom is no one's business. And btw, having an older significant other does not imply one sleeps with them ;) IMHO: 1. the OP was clearly not bright. Visiting before talking on the phone?! 2. Criminal Justice major here. Age of Consent in a lot of states (including both CA and GA) is 16. @OP Go anyways! Meet someone there; God works in mysterious ways, but know that your feet and heart are guided by the one most high!

Wrong. The age of consent varies from state to state. For example, in NY it's 17 but in many states it's 16 [like GA]. In some states, it's 18 [like Cali]. Plox to be learning something before you start talking out your ass.
