Today, after I met a guy online and we'd became fast friends, talking every day about everything, things got flirty after half a year of talking. A year in, I finally got the time to meet up with him. It turns out he lied about his age. He's 8 years younger and in college. I fell head over heels. Help. FML

Today, I met the guy I've been talking to online for two years in real life. He tried to convince me to have his children because they would be average height. He's a midget and I'm 6'2". This is the most romantic thing anybody has ever said to me. FML
Today, I got a text from the guy I've been in love with for 3 years, saying, "So um, I've been wondering. Did you used to be a man?" FML
Today, while visiting family in my very small hometown for the summer, I met a guy and we really hit it off. Everything was going great, and I brought him home to meet my family, where my grandmother told me he was 16. Now I’m definitely not getting lucky this trip. FML
Today, for the first time in more than two years, a guy asked me out. Too bad he lives halfway around the world. FML
Today, I went out to meet a wonderful woman I'd chatted with online. I did have a few fears about if she was really just some guy trying to make a fool out of me. When I met her, she really was a girl, and was happy to see me. Problem: she was actually 13. I'm 34. FML
Today, I found out that the girl I've been dating online for over three months is actually a very bored 14-year-old boy. FML

Ignore the comments saying you can't fall in love with someone you "don't know" I'm pretty sure unless you have a highly intelligent schitzofrenia, you can't perfectly make yourself act like someone else. If you could, you can do it in real life too. So there's always a chance to "not know someone" in real life and online. And that person sucks by the way. Lying in general is shit.

I really doubt it's very possible to fall in love with someone whose face you've never seen and whose voice you've never heard. Nothing is impossible in the realm of love I guess, but really, not likely. Try to take a step back and look at yourself. What is it that's leading you to look for love from someone who has no physical presence in your life rather than actually looking for it in those around you? Is it "love", whatever that is, or is it just insecurity/loneliness?

It's possible that if the girl lied about her gender, it's also possible that she lied about her age. Either way four years in tricking OP should be a record.
