Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, as I rung up a customer's groceries, he gave me a pitying look and said I'd have a "real job" if I'd only studied harder. FML
Today, working at a fast food restaurant, I was berated by a customer for a good two minutes. It's okay though because she ended with, "Sorry, I forget you all are real people." FML
Today, I was working the drive-through at McDonald's. I greeted a customer with a, "Hi, how are you doing today?" His response: "Better than you." FML
Today, at my new job, I took some food out to a customer. Walking away, I heard a lady mumble, "Oh my God, you could never pay me enough to wear that." FML
Today, a customer gave me the dirtiest look ever and muttered, "Goody two-shoes prick" after I asked if he'd like to donate a few cents to charity. FML
Today, while checking out a couple at work, I handed them their receipt and wished them a good day. The woman promptly pulled her husband to the side, and whispered to him about how much of a "fucking idiot" I was for making the prices so high. I work at McDonald's. FML
Today, at work, I put on a smile and went to take an elderly gentleman's order. He looked at me, asked if I'd stick a finger in his sweet tea to make it sweeter, then complained that it was a shame I wasn't "on the menu". FML
Today, at the store, I didn't hear the cashier when she asked if I had a loyalty card. She took one look at my naturally bitchy-looking face and muttered "It's my JOB to ask, jeez." FML
Today, at work, I’ll admit that I wasn’t in a good mood. I work in fast food, and I went to hand this guy his food without looking and he didn’t grab it. I got frustrated so I FINALLY looked. With an equally as upset look, I noticed the guy didn’t have arms, so I’d just been shoving food in his face. FML
Today, making small talk with my coworkers, I said a restaurant I'd tried recently was "superb". They all gave me weird looks, and one said, "Someone's trying too hard to sound smart." Now I've got a rep as a pseudo-intellectual douchebag. FML

Say that you are okay, just so you don't ruin everybody else's day.

Speaking on behalf of the "smart" degrees, I apologize.

Even if everyone got a college degree we would still need people to dig ditches and flip burgers.

Obviously you have a liberal arts degree or this wouldn't have offended you so badly

How is the OP offended? Posting to FML is often to get a laugh not because someone is particularly offended.

While that's the idea, it doesn't always seem to be the case. Especially if you moderate. Haha

I don't have a liberal arts degree and that would offend me. you're just as bad as he is. and just an FYI, I went for psychology.

So if someone called you a thief you would be offended only if you actually were a thief?

Once, while I was working in retail, I was busting my butt to help a picky customer, and offered to call other stores to find what he was looking for. He sneered, "Ooh, you're so smart. Good thing you've got such a high paying job." That "high paying job" paid my way through eight years of university, and now I'm a doctor.

I bet the customer doesn't even have a degree or plans in getting one.

Heres a lesson for everyone. Dont choose retarded careers
pandaxpress 19
What's to say that's his career? Having a job is important if you want to keep the lights on.

Here's a lesson for everyone: take any job you can (as long as you don't burn out!) to earn some extra cash because life is expensive.
