Today, I celebrated the new year. Alone. FML
Today, I am passing New Year's Eve alone with my cat because everybody around me decided to celebrate in close committee, had a family emergency, or caught the C plague. FML
Today, I bought a Halloween costume for my cat. FML
Today, it's my birthday. I woke up to the sound of my cat puking up a hairball. This is the second year in a row he has done this. FML
Today, it's my anniversary. I've been a single cat-lady for exactly one year. FML
Today, I got a promotion. I was really excited until I realized that the only friend I had to celebrate with was my pet cat. FML
Today, it's my birthday, I knew I would be on my own, so I brought some pancakes, only to come down and find that not only had my cat eaten them, but also that I’d have to clean his barf up. Happy birthday to me. FML
Today, I went Christmas shopping for my cat. I still haven't bought presents for my family, yet my cat already has several small gifts under the tree and an outfit to wear around the house. I really need a new hobby. FML
Today, I bought my girlfriend a cat. I now have a cat and no girlfriend. FML
Today, I caught my mom eating cat biscuits. We don't have a cat. FML

I don't see the problem here. You got to avoid drunk douche bags and you spent the holiday with a loyal friend. And you got cake!
