Good night
Today, my 26-year-old boyfriend came to my apartment to spend the night for the first time. He brought a "blankie" that he insisted was the only thing that could help him sleep. That "blankie" was his ex-girlfriend's silk nightgown. FML

Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my boyfriend invited me over for dinner for the first time. The place was full of his ex's stuff, books on the shelves, makeup in the bathroom, clothes in the closet and even shoes on the floor. Not to mention creepy plush toys staring at me. She left him 8 years ago. FML
Today, my girlfriend gave me her ex-boyfriend's hoodie as a gift. FML
Today, in protest at my girlfriend stealing the blankets every night, I actually bought myself a separate duvet. She stole that one too in her sleep, wrapped it round herself, and turned over so many times it disappeared under her somewhere. I went and slept on the sofa in my dressing gown. FML
Today, I got to sleep in the same bed as the love of my life...and her new boyfriend. FML
Today, I slept in my boyfriend's room for the first time. I also wet the bed for the first time in a decade. FML
Today, I went to my grandmom's house for an hour or so. When I came home, my boyfriend was on the bed, covered in the sheets and about to cry. Turns out he taped his ballsack to his leg and couldn't get it off because it "hurts too much." I'm 24 and he's 26. FML
Today, I found out my boyfriend regularly has his ex stay over. They even share a bed. He doesn't see a problem with this. FML
Today, my boyfriend came round to drop off some underwear, which I'd left at his house. Not all of what he brought was mine. FML
Today, while visiting my grandparents, I used one of their blankets to keep warm. Later, I saw their dog getting busy with said blanket. When my grandparents saw my look of horror, they explained that he has "sexual relations" with the blanket every night. Thanks for telling me, guys. FML
Today, I woke up to a disappointed boyfriend. He told me he spent an hour last night farting on my pillow to see if I would wake up with pink-eye. He's 23 years-old. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?

You can force a horse to the river, but you can't force it to drink... OP could give him a reason to give it up, but if he's actually carrying it around then he's not ready to be spending the night with her or any other female for that matter...
Miss_Attitude96 24
Or.. The nightgown-blankie could "mysteriously" vanish O.o

I can think of 2 right off the bat. 1. They broke up! 2. He has a new girl
twinkiefeets 17
Screw that get a new boyfriend with no blankie. One who doesn't have baggage.
nurchok 15
Or just convince him to use YOUR silk nightgown "blankie" :)

Give him a reason to get rid of it? She wanted to spend the night with him. If he's too attached to his ex still, she should be finding another boyfriend.

Or he's seven years old.

If he sleeps with a blankie, he's too young for you bro. :)
matthewesparza12 13
Hell no she better get rid of that "blanket"

Or this is the beginning of the overly obsessed boyfriend
thatnucca 36
I totally agree with you on that... Clinging onto a silk nightgown for his dear life... Smdh
DividableByZero 11
Tell him he can have yours? I'm not sure what to do in this kind of situation :/
webbface 25
You make him leave, that's what you do in that kind of situation.

Lmao, I love OP's name.
nyrangersfan9 13
I think the main issue is not that he's still in love with his ex but actually that he kept her nightgown and cuddles with it
1PersonIsMyWorld 22
That is kind of obsessive behavior. I'd be cautious op.
thatnucca 36
What's next, using OP's panties for hankies after they break up?
captainObviously 15
I also think your point is very obvious! Good comment! Well put rangers fan!

Yes...cuddles...

I've heard silk nightgowns make awesome cleaning rags.

Well, at least it wasn't a teddy bear.
BeccaHugs 17
But if it was a bear like Ted it would be one hundred times better than . . . well, than anything.
ohcheriecherie 20
I think a teddy bear would've been better? than something that belonged to an ex?
tommylover842 23
I think OP would prefer it was a teddy bear...as long as it wasn't his ex girlfriend's!
SolarFlare 20
Yes, actually I'm now thinking the same..
RoboCunnilingus 23
An I the only one who read both of 27's lines with a real questioning tone?
thrAsHeRr9081 16
Well, there are question marks?
lmarie1 9
I think he has a few issues if he needs that to sleep. Hopefully he realises you're the priority OP!
kjones99 11
That's awkward, OP. You should ask about it, he might still have feelings for her...that wouldn't be good.
olpally 33
Burn it. That's ****** up.
