Today, I got my first tattoo. I didn't realise that the font I chose uses a fancy capital L that can easily be mistaken for a capital F. It looks like I have "I'm A Good Fuck Charm" tattooed on my wrist. FML
Today, while sitting next to me, my boyfriend sent a text to one of his "friends" saying, "I'm thinking of you." FML
Today, my girlfriend bought me a new hockey jersey and donated my old one. My old one was signed. FML
Today, my friend and I were at the mall and saw a "Grow Your Own Boyfriend" toy. I remarked that I already had one of those, and she freaked out, very loudly and openly, about me "finally having a boyfriend". I had to embarrassingly explain I meant I had the toy... not an actual boyfriend. FML
Today, my girlfriend of 3 years left me for a guy whose favorite color is camouflage. FML
Today, I found out that my boyfriend of two years has a beautiful daughter. That's cool, except she's one year old. FML
Today, my 5-year-old son made a drawing of our living room, with the addition of an apparition, and the text, "I can see you. Daddy doesn't see you. Who are you?" FML
Today, while working as a massage therapist, a client had me work on a very specific knot in his shoulder. He also happened to have a very detailed, very realistic tattoo of the Crucifixion on his shoulder. I just spent 45 minutes violating Jesus. FML
Today, my extremely in-shape boyfriend told me he hasn't had a chance to work out lately. I jokingly poked him in the belly saying he's getting chunky and winked. He burst into tears. FML
Today, I opened up an English textbook to find someone else's dirty fingernails between the pages. FML

I'm sorry, but this is freaking hilarious!!! You should've thought to ask him about it first. I mean, it is his work. I have no artistic talent, but if I did, and someone took one of my drawings and used it as a tattoo without my permission, I'd be a little upset

Yes, it was a bad decision on the part of the OP to take the design from her boyfriend without first discussing it with him, at which point she would have discovered that his ex had gotten it. However- to all of the people saying she deserved it for getting a tattoo at all and how tattoos are bad- people typically get tattoos because they are meaningful to them. My tattoos are expressions of my personality and who I am, just like anything else I would wear. The only difference is that they are important enough expressions to me that I made them a permanent part of my body. Furthermore, they serve as visual reminders to myself of who I am and what I stand for.

I agree. That was rude. While it might have seemed like a nice surprise, she ruined the gesture he did for his other girlfriend. Ex, if he is still friends with her, or perhaps in love with her, might not take him back because of this. It has more damage than the OP took the time to think about. Way to be a ****.

I do like tattoos and would get one if I had the chance but the last statement I am unsure of. You're judging people who prefer not to get tattoos, but I guess it's fair since they're judging you for getting a tattoo. However, two evils does not make a good. You see, with a tattoo comes several glares and nasty comments. If you can't deal with it, don't get a tattoo.

Secondly, I have one doctoral degree, a post-doctoral degree, and just passed the state Bar exam on my first try. My degrees are in Philosophy and Law, two pursuits I think even you can agree are "intellectual." Guess what? I have a tattoo. Many of my friends with similar credentials have tattoos. Having been in a graduate educational environment for five years, I can, with confidence, refute your asinine claim that intellectuals rarely adorn their bodies with tattoos. While you are free, of course, to assert that tattoos are "stupid," please do not make fallacious claims about the intelligentsia when it is plainly obvious from your spelling and grammar that you are not part of the club.

I have many tattoos and I'd like to say I'm very intelligent. I for one don't think I'm "tuff shit" because I have tattoos and piercings. I have them for myself and my view on art.
