Today, I met up with my dad for the first time in 7 years. We planned to go to a nice restaurant but he changed the place we were going to, to Chuck E. Cheese. I'm 18 years old. I waited an hour for him to show up. I then ended up babysitting his daughter the whole time. FML
Today, I went on a date for the first time in ages, only to realize that the guy I was seeing chose to take us to a specific restaurant in able to stalk his ex. FML
Today, I was supposed to be going on my first date with a guy I really liked. He never showed up. I just found out my dad was outside washing the car when my date showed up. He told him he didn't have a daughter and to never show up on his driveway again. FML
Today, I went on a first date with a guy I really like. He brought up that there was a person staring at us from a nearby table. That person was my mom. FML

Today, I was on a date with a guy I've been crushing on. In the middle of the dinner, he said he had to go get something from his car. When I asked what it was, he smiled and said it was a surprise. I waited for my surprise for half an hour. Then I decided to pay the bill and go home and cry. FML
Today, after being single for a while now, I unwillingly went on a blind date with a guy my friend convinced me would be perfect for me. He took me to McDonald's. His father was with him the whole entire time. He's 27. FML
Today, after having an amazing first date with my long time crush, we ended up going out to dinner. We shared a meal, and it was delicious! This would have been the ultimate dream come true... Except for the part about me throwing up in his car on the way back home. FML
Today, my crush invited me to her house and I ended up meeting her dad. Then she suddenly had to dash off because her boyfriend, whom I had no idea existed, unexpectedly had free time so they were going on a last minute date, which left me awkwardly sat there in the kitchen with her dad. FML

I really can't think of anything more romantic than soggy pizza and a man in a sweaty mouse costume. the hyper kids and vomit hidden in the strangest places in the play place is just a plus.

I think that there should be tests like this in the real world. You put an story like this up, you tell everyone to post his thoughts. If someone says something like, "You're selfish! He's allowed to have a kid!" Or, "How dare him have a kid he loves!" Or, "Chuck E Cheese's can be fun!" Then you can immediately disregard the possibility of ever befriending those people, because no one's reading comprehension should be that horrendous.

I can't say I blame you for being upset that he didn't tell you before your first date, but as a lot of people are saying, at least he did tell you on the first date rather than several dates later. Perhaps he was just afraid that if you knew he had a young son, you wouldn't even give him a chance at all (which in some cases can be true). On the bright side, you got to go eat pizza, might not have been super romantic, but pizza is always tasty.

I don't think I would have even gotten in the car, depending on the kids age and the circumstances. Did he get ditched by his babysitter but didn't want to stand you up? I cant believe people are saying you shouldn't have been offended or weirded out. You don't just spring kids on people with literally no warning and you're not a horrible person if you don't want to date someone with kids, they aren't everyone's cup of tea, and he should have given you the chance to be honest about whether or not you want to date someone with that kind of responsibility. I wonder how his child's mother feels about him introducing women on the first date, would get kind of confusing for the kid to get used to all of daddy's girlfriends? Chuck E. Cheese is loud, smells weird, the ball pit is absolutely filthy and full of germs. I don't mind trudging through an hour of the mind numbing music and children running around for a birthday party or if I'm babysitting but I can think of a million other places better suited for a first date - even if you have to drag along a kid.
