Ummm that's why you read your letters before you send it.... you deserved that.
He'd be like "Show-off, now i know you're lying!"
you know what tonight is? the night we take over the world!
Just say it's your nickname or something. If you wrote about how intelligent you are, "Brain" might be appropriate...
Just say it was a joke, no big deal.
You could shorten this FML by a lot... here.. "I can't spell my own name. FML"
Or... "I'm too lazy to proofread my own resume but I still think I'm going to get hired. FML"
#3 wins. No other comments are needed.
wasn't there an fml just like this not too long ago...
If he doesn't reply, obviously he's not pondering what you're pondering.
lol That sucks. :[ I've done something before where I called a man "Miss" when addressing the letter. Oops. We all make little mistakes like that. ;[

#3 FTW!
Always always always proof read shit like that before you send it. Especially when it can mean the difference between getting a job and not.
He might think it is a witty stunt?
Ummm.......... Proof read
You should proof read everything if it's typed. Duh you deserved that for proof reading after you sent it! :oP
Great attention to detail? You shouldn't lie about these things since apparently you don't have them.
Lmfao u deserved that one
So if you do get hired and they call you brain, would you say you spelled your name wrong or stick with brain for the rest of your career? :D
When you meet ur employer, you should tell him that all ur friends call u brain, and that ur just used to typing it, so it was atomatic.
Gloating is such a waste of time.
that's why you re read it BEFORE hitting send, not after.duh.
You are officially stupid.
HAHAHAA #3

HA! Here's news, buddy. They probably won't hire you.
That's why people usually proofread stuff before sending it.
I lol'd way too loud while being in class.
specially @ comment #3 lolollo
Your supposed to proof it BEFORE you send it out.
Just to console you - a lot of times people read really fast and don't really notice these things. Like Brain as against Brian or Field Vs Feild or recieve Vs receive.... I hope you get the drift. FYI - I have been involved in recruiting in my company.
that's why you read it first. your name should be: no Brain
Say it's your nickname. My girlfriend's brother is named Brian but people call him Brain. Try it.
LMAO! #6, I second that.
This is just so hilarious. If it wasn't in error, terribly witty too.
stellar writing skills includes proofreading.....
Dudes, am I the only one who thought this wasn't an FML because he made a typo, but because he's afraid the potential employer will read about him saying how smart he is, and think he's just being a snotty douchebag by signing "Brain" at the end?
Dude, that's pretty cocky. "Sincerely, THE BRAIN!!!!!!!"
Proof read. YDI. Hopefully you'll learn when you don't get the job.
You don't know how to spell your own name... that's just pitiful :(.
we all make that mistake, but uhmm... thats called proofreading. not an FML.
YDI for bragging.
I do that sometimes, but it's your own name. Ironic, seeing as you clearly don't have a brain. Proof-read?
This is why you always always always proof read your resumes and cover letters before sending them. Don't expect a call back from them. lol
I feel your pain! I have an ex named Brian and I always used to mistype his name as Brain, haha.
Lol thats sucha huge fail.
if ur lucky he will misread it and think it says brian
why would you reread your letter after you send it and not before?
You typed your name in full caps and with dashes? I don't think they would have accepted you anyway. (If you have such great writing skills you should know how to use quotation marks).
Regardless if it's not too late try playing it off as a joke.
HAHA #3. Egads Brain! NARF!
>> After hitting send, I reread the letter
Wrong order.
Usually you read it over and /then/ send it... especially if it's to a possible employer.
i dont get #3's comment????
i don't believe this one. the same thing happened in the movie "Igor"
#59, that's a 'Pinky & the Brain' reference
This really stinks. We've all had typos before. On the other hand, this is why you can't just trust spell check. Obviously, rereading it before sending would have been wise, especially for something so important.

after hitting send... fail
It's not a big a deal as you might think.... just tell them that you typed your thing up in Word/whatever, pasted, signed your name quickly and hit send accidentally.
My dad's middle name is Brian, and on his wedding license he also wrote Brain. haha don't worry its not that big of a mistake. It happens. They might not even notice.
LOL!
Ahhh my bf's name is spelt as Bryan hehe have friends as Brian..
& have mistyped it as Brain sometimes - not your fault hehe but then again,
quite an important letter, you should have checked it again
This could almost qualify as an example of Muphry's Law in action...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muphry%27s_law
if you're going to brag about how you pay attention to detail, actually pay attention to detail.
Roll with it. If you stick to the fiction hard enough they'll never now, Brain.
they might think you were being clever .
Yeah, #60 is right.
In Igor, his name is Brain, but it was spelled Brian.
lol, that will certainly get u the job!
thats why you check the letter BEFORE you send it, especially if you're typing it out on the computer. sometimes if its on Word the words change automatically too. but yes. i agree with #1, u deserved that :P
This is the most non-funny FML I have ever read.
You better hope your potential employer is dyslexic
Proof-reading BEFORE you send is... wait for it... A NO-BRAINER!
Comment FAIL!!! #3 is one of the ONLY good comments here... and I doubt anyone who wrote a sucky comment even gets it.
You should have not been hired for using the word "stellar" XD
It's a ducking misspell. Grow up. It's not even 'Hmmm... There is nothing really terrible going on in my life right now, and it's just kinda average and all but some tweensy gay little thing happened that kinda sorta irritated me' material.
---Cassy
Why would you send it and THEN read it?
FAIL !!!
lol
xD
be more careful in the future...sorry but....YDI.
ALWAYS check the spelling to make sure it's correct. Honestly, idiots these days…
Play it off and pretend that you were being an ass by showing off how smart you by calling yourself Brain
