Today, I sent a cover letter to a potential employer. In the letter, I talked about my great attention to detail, my strong ability to focus, and my stellar writing skills. After hitting send, I reread the letter and noticed that I typed my name "B-R-A-I-N." My name is Brian. FML

Just say it's your nickname or something. If you wrote about how intelligent you are, "Brain" might be appropriate...

Ummm that's why you read your letters before you send it.... you deserved that.

It's not a big a deal as you might think.... just tell them that you typed your thing up in Word/whatever, pasted, signed your name quickly and hit send accidentally.

My dad's middle name is Brian, and on his wedding license he also wrote Brain. haha don't worry its not that big of a mistake. It happens. They might not even notice.

LOL! Ahhh my bf's name is spelt as Bryan hehe have friends as Brian.. & have mistyped it as Brain sometimes - not your fault hehe but then again, quite an important letter, you should have checked it again

This could almost qualify as an example of Muphry's Law in action... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muphry%27s_law

if you're going to brag about how you pay attention to detail, actually pay attention to detail.

Roll with it. If you stick to the fiction hard enough they'll never now, Brain.
