2) Using 'female' as an adjective and as a noun are completely different. Have you never heard someone say, "Damn, these females is fine!" or something of that sort? You must not get out much, or maybe you're just lucky to be in a place where you don't constantly run into the degenerates that use theis terms. Either way, you don't even seem to understand what I'm talking about. Since I don't feel like taking more of my own time to explain this to you, and language is not my strongest area (more of a science and math gal), here's a nice quote that I believe sums this up perfectly:

@289: Actually, in my experience somehow saying "woman" incites more anger.
"Bring me a sandwich, woman!" is more offensive than "Bring me a sandwich, female!" for some reason. That "impersonal" bit actually makes it less offensive because it's almost like they're not really talking to you.

Think about it for a while. What I am presenting here is a 'what if' situation. I never said this is how things should be and I never said you are "solely responsible" for things not being this way. I'm simply saying IF things were this way you wouldn't be arguing in the first place about who people are referring to when they say "Americans" because if some other country in the western hemisphere used 'America' in its name then to avoid confusion ppl from the USA would probably distinguish themselves as UnitedStaters. Yes, I have heard these things many times ... it's very funny, and it is true, except for the "All" part, I'm sure not everyone would fall into those categories. Regardless, what as that got to do with anything I said? But since u brought it up, tbh im pretty sure there are ppl on the other side of the globe who do include Canadians and Mexicans in these stereotypes, they do actually consider them 'American' but not in the nationalistic sense, rather more in the cultural and regional sense. I was originally responding to the asshole from Argentina who said most of us Americans are "fat as fuck", even though his country has a soaring obesity rate as well. Yea I understand what you're saying. He wouldn't be able (or want, I would think) to say Americans if he was also considered an American.
However, he could always say North Americans (which is more broad but still includes people from the US), or US citizens (though I doubt that he has that kind of vocabulary).
I think even if we were all considered one big happy family of Americans, there would still be criticism on an individual country, it just makes people choose their words more carefully.

Yeah, I generally just don't bother. I assume anyone calling me a term I don't prefer isn't doing it in a demeaning way, so I just let it go. It works with both genders. 60 to 70% of fat people have emotional and mental issues stemming from prior hardships in the past. Which made them turn to food to eat away the pain. It's the equivalent to a person who cuts themselves to deal with the pain, the only difference is cutting is an immediate relief while over-eating is slower and more subtle.

Those of you putting down fat people have no idea what its like to be fat. You have no idea what its like until you live a day in their life. Remember the pain they remember, feel the stress they feel, deal with the putting yourself down for how you look every day. Over weight people feel more than most people do. Also, being called fat is almost equivalent to someone pointing out how small your dick is, so think about that ; )

Hey for future reference: just say the girl with the purple shirt or with the curly brown hair. I am almost certain you would have scored more brownie points if the blind date would have walked up and saw a fat chick sitting next to you and you had not pointed out a negative feature. Being politely vague, especially on a blind date or any date for that matter works wonders. Referring to someone's appearance by their features, that can't be changed in under an hour, usually gets people in to trouble. Example: that guy with the hook nose or the woman with hairy arms. Ya know Mary the hunchback, with the mustache and the droopy boobs? I know it is human nature to point out the obvious but I can't imagine how that woman must have felt. People that are heavy know they are heavy they are fat not blind; it probably really hurt her feelings just the same.

I doubt that any of those that said that people that are "fat" are disgusting and whatnot will have the empathy or understanding to get what I'm saying, but I'll waste my time anyways.
The fact that there is a dispute of whether calling someone fat is proper or not means it should not be used. Perhaps you mistakenly believe that being bigger makes you unattractive. What if you had to choose between someone who was toothless, old and completely bald against someone who had beautiful hair, teeth and was young, but was 30 pounds overweight?
The fact is that we have been programmed to think that skinny is beautiful. Everywhere you look are skinny women on billboards, tvs, magazines, causing us to believe that skinny is the image of beauty. Not true. This phenomenon is purely based upon economics- it is actually only a recent occurrence that skinny is beauty. It used to be that the more pale, "rubenesque" women were beautiful (also due to economic reasons) because it was a sign that they did not have to work for a living, were not exposed to the sun by having to work in it, and had plenty to eat. In short, a sign of wealth. However, now that things have changed for us, so did our standards. The number of people who work outside is reduced thanks to industrialization, so class divisions were no longer so easy to see, so, there are now new ways to judge class divisions. It is always said that the cheaper food is also more fattening? I don't know, I haven't done the research, but it is something to consider.
You can also see how beauty standards have changed even in the past century. Marilyn Monroe is still a widely acknowledged beauty, and she was by no means skinny. The "waif" as a supermodel began with a model named Twiggy, and gradually all designers adopted skinnier models, as it required less fabric to make clothes for them.
Anyways, you can say "fat" is ugly. That just proves that you make generalizations as you can't judge in every case. And yes, I'm bigger and I don't mind. Judge me all you like :D

It depends how fat she was. I love the couple of people who wrote essays on how "fat" should not be hated. I don't mind fat people. I'd never date a fat girl. Arguing over the whole personality thing is bullshit. Girls look to guys for looks as much as guys look to girls for looks. If one or the other is fat, the mind processes it as ugly because why?: society's norms tell them to! Duh!
This situation is just unfortunate, though.
