Today, I had to pay my bus fare in very small change. After carefully counting out coins under the withering glares of a bus-load of people, I quickly slid them into the machine, and somehow ended up jamming it. FML

Today, I walked into a gas station and saw some $.25 gum. It looked good and I thought I had a quarter in my pocket. I found no change in my pocket once I got to the register, so I pulled out my credit card. The cashier laughed a few seconds later when my card was declined for a piece of gum. FML

Most vending machines don't hold that many quarters in the coin return magazine. Once this magazine, or clip, or whatever you want to call it is full, the overflow goes in to a bulk change bin. Those don't come out until the vendor opens the machine and dumps them. Sorry, but I have to call BS on this FML.

Trust me, it can happen. It happened to me in high school, I put a $20 in for an ice cream (which was like $2.75) and got back a shit ton of quarters! It sucked.

This would never happen if you were Canadian! Most Americans make fun of our money saying it looks fake or like Monopoly money, but I can tell you one thing, I've never got stuck carrying 80 quarters around in my pocket because of a vending machine mix up! YDI
