Today, my vegan step-mom found out I ate at McDonald's yesterday. She gave me hell and asked me how it feels to give money to "murderers". All while my dad sat quietly by because he's too whipped to speak his mind. It wasn't even her house a month ago. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my family dragged me to a steakhouse, knowing full well I'm vegan. I sat there, with my sad little salad, watching as they stuffed themselves with burned animal flesh and laughed at me. They wonder why I hate them all. FML
Today, I was at my boyfriend's house for dinner with his family. His mom cooked up a steak dinner, except that I'm a vegan, but trying to be a good girlfriend, I forced it down. Upon his mother finding out I was a vegan, she called me "disloyal to my beliefs." FML
Today, I made a tasty, healthy plant-based lunch for my family. They ate a few bites, spat it out, and then went to McDonald's "to eat real food, you know, food with meat in it." FML
Today, my daughter came home from school crying hysterically. Apparently, her teacher is a vegan douchebag who told the whole class, "If your family eats meat, they're eating your future!" Now she screams when we eat meat. FML
Today, I've been a vegan for a year. It's also the day that I met my dad's new best friend, who happens to be a retired butcher. They tried to pull an intervention on me for not "being sensible" by eating meat. FML
Today, I was making dinner for my family while my wife was at work. She walked in the door with McDonald's, even though she knew I was cooking. Then our kids saw and started screaming that they wanted McDonald's too and that it was unfair. I've told her not to pull this shit and she won't listen. FML
Today, my mom admitted that the only reason she took me out for lunch was because she felt guilty over going on a massive shopping spree for my sister while I was forced to stay home alone. I thanked her for the Wendy's meal anyway. FML
Today, my boyfriend called my mother stupid and angrily argued with her at a family dinner. Why? We have a long-running family joke that "Vegan food doesn't contain calories," and my boyfriend thought my mum said it seriously, and was therefore a moron. FML
Today, I made the mistake of telling my militant vegan coworker I have fond memories of hunting with my dad, which set her off like a tofu-powered grenade. If she doesn’t stop treating me like the devil, making snide comments, and other shit, I may have to go to HR about her. FML
Today, I was minding a 6-year old boy. He begged me to take him somewhere. I rang his mum, and she said I could. He picked to go to McDonald's. He ordered chicken. After his meal, he told me he was vegetarian, and wanted to try some meat while his mum wasn't around. I got the blame. FML

That sucks.... stand up for yourself even if your dad won't! I have a step mom who came in and did the same thing almost 20 years ago and to this day, my dad has yet to locate his balls. -_-

What a bitch. Stand up for yourself OP. We're allowed to eat whatever we want. I know not all vegans are crazy, but most honesty scare me. Their attitudes have actually deflected me from wanting to become vegan (even vegetarian). I thought about pescatarian since I don't eat much meat (besides chicken, fish, and turkey), but that was also put on the back burner. It isn't her house, she isn't your parent, so she has ZERO say in your life. Let her know that (:

Don't let someone's attitude and beliefs sway you from potentially making a positive change in your life. Sure, lots of people, vegan or not, can be intimidating, but in the end, it's their life- not yours. No one is making you become intimidating as well. I agree that OP should stand up for himself. However, as the dad's legal wife and therefore a potential property owner, his stepmom very well could say and do whatever she pleases- especially if OP is legally an adult and if his dad isn't doing anything to stop her.

Find out what brands of clothes she wears (many made by sweatshop workers) - does she wear leather, handbags/shoes (not eating animals doesn't mean shit if she still wears them) - check her make up and toiletry brands, if they test on animals then give her hell back. The testing they do is torturous and ongoing. Torturing an animal for vanity is worse than killing for food. Screw people who force their views on others, fair enough if she discussed it politely in an effort to open your eyes to the reasoning behind her views. But she just sounds like a born and bred bitch
