Today, my maid of honor, who offered to take care of my wedding dress before the D-Day, left it near her open window during heavy rain. My dress is now ruined, and she's backed out due to stress. I'm supposed to be getting married tomorrow. FML

Don't worry, my wife was sick on our wedding day. She was in the bathroom for more then half the reception. And it was still a great day.

D-Day is June 6, so you should have plenty of time to dry out the dress and get someone else to be you maid of honor.

Like I say. Weddings ALWAYS bring out the worst in people. But then when it's their day they expect you to treat them like royalty. F*ck people

I would of been so mad I wouldn't be able to see straight

It's only a big deal if you let it become a big deal. Go get a wedding dress and anyone will do. Nobody will be looking at the dress and they won't be able to remember what it looked like anyway. Keep in mind that this is the day which you exchange important vows with the person who will become the most important person in your life forever. That is what you have invited everybody to come and share with you. Not to come and see how beautiful you are. And you can take your maid of honor off the friend's list. Anyone who is that unstable and can leave you in such a bad situation should never be trusted again. You don't have to hate her but just move her off the list of trusted friend. Good luck and I hope you remain happily married forever.

If my translations are correct, I believe he said "Don't worry, all that matters is the marriage."

Sums up nicely why I'll never get married. Too much stress. Also very expensive! And what for? You don't need to get married to be happy together. Good luck nonetheless.

Of all the things that should be on her mind with everything falling apart she had to stop and post an FML? Really? #prioroties

you couldn't leave it in your closet? I left mine in the garment bag. hubby didn't see it and I was a happy bride.

Aww, OP. Trust me, though. Out of all the bad wedding stories I've heard, yours isn't that bad. At my Mom and Dad's wedding, my Dad's sister decided to ask my Mom's great grandfather if her boobs were too large. This happened after my Dad's entire collection of siblings decided to trash the wedding cake and have a cake fight. And my Mom's second wedding lost the venue because of a huge storm pretty much trashing the first venue.
