Today, I wanted to ask out this cute girl I used to work with. Before I could, she said she likes my only friend there, and asked if could I set them up. Trying to be nice guy and good friend, I did. Then she made her complete lack of interest in me obvious. But hey, at least the gay guy she hung out with thought I was cute. FML

Today, I was planning on asking out a girl I've been really close to for a few months now. I was with her when I got a forward text from my friend. It was from the girl and it said "noooo tell him not to ask me out I don't like him." I got rejected via forward text before I told her how I felt. FML

Sounds like you lucked out to me. What if she'd said yes? Then you would have had to deal with going "Sorry, it was a bet" and dumping her. This way, you didn't have to date the ugly girl, and you should qualify for winning that $20.

Yeah, you're a dick. YDI, and I hope everyone in the school finds out. ..I think I was on the other side of this one many years ago. A girl asked me out in what I believed was a taunting manner, so I turned her down derisively without even thinking. I now wonder if it was actually a nervous manner and I was the jerk there.
