Hah I'm actually a horseback rider and if she's going to a show tomorrow then that's a perfectly legitimate excuse. But if she's just doing it randomly then yeah she's ditching you.

I can speak from the standpoint of an equestrian. If there is a show coming up you have to clean your horse. I have been at the barn until 10:30 PM before doing horse show prep. For all I know she's not an equestrian but perhaps that's why?

It sucks that that happened, but I ride horses myself, they take a crap load of time out of your life. Bathing, braiding, clipping, and cleaning their tack before a show. Show season is crazy!
