Today, my elderly neighbor called the police because my cat was in her yard. I now have a citation and a court date. Apparently, there is a leash law for cats in my town, and it is taken very seriously. FML

Today, I witnessed my psycho neighbor put her cat in a cage, cross into my backyard, and set the cage down before returning to her house. She then called the cops and claimed I'd stolen her cat. The cops didn't believe my side of the story for a second. FML

Today, when I stepped outside, I found out my neighbors forgot to leash their mean-ass dog when he promptly started charging at me. If not for the black cat who lives outside my house, who I've fed before, jumping in and somehow single-handedly whooping his ass, I'd probably be dead. You don't fuck with stray cats. FML

Today, I had to call the cops on my batshit crazy neighbor, who’s repeatedly threatened to steal my dog. I finally got her ass on camera. She swears that my dog is being abused because it prefers to sleep outside instead of being in the house. Imagine that, an animal that likes being outside. FML

Today, I got a citation from my landlord because my puppy couldn't make it to the grass and peed in the shrubs. Later in the evening, I got a citation that my music was too loud. Until I'd submitted my 30-day notice yesterday, no one ever had a problem with me FML

Today, I found my lost cat. As I was hooking it up to a leash to get it in my car, a man approached and asked what I was doing. His kids alerted him that there was a woman stealing their cat from their front lawn. It was not my cat. FML

Ah, yes. It's stupid that the law attempts to make you be responsible and care for your pets. I work at a vet's office, and it astounds me the vast amount of cats that come in with serious problems-- severe infections, getting hit by a car or attacked, getting caught in hunting traps, ect-- because their owners turn them out without a second thought. Then you have the cats who strut in on a leash, the prestine picture of feline health.

You so deserve it. It is beyond my understanding why cat owners have this magical thinking that everyone love to have free roaming cats piss and shit in their kids sandbox and destroy their garden. How would they react if their neighbor would let their dog poop all over their yard. Free roaming cats are also responsible for destroying rare or endangered species of rodents, birds and other small animals. And their owners call themselves animal lovers....

This is hilarious! I've never heard of putting a leash on a cat! If we did that in the UK we would be ridiculed for taking the cat for a walk! Sounds like another of America's weird oppressive laws. My cat basically lives outside and comes in for food. This is what cats are meant to do.
