I was in a similar situation a few months ago. I spent 5 months with someone who not only didn't know how to spell my name, but said "it's not a big deal how you spell it" when I corrected him. I hope you're not too upset about the situation; he can't be that great anyway :)

Actually, something very similar happened to me this year. I was dating this guy for about 3 or 4 months and he broke up with me over facebook (and spelled my name wrong). Two weeks later, he changed his relationship status to "in a relationship", which it had never said while he was with me

You need to get his friends to get mad at him for it. My friend's ex broke up with her over text message. Because he was already part of our group of friends, we got REALLY pissed at him, told him off, called him a coward, etc. He never did it again.
