I don't know how some people move from friendship to dating, but from what i usually see here seems like more than 70% of the people barely know the person they are dating. I think one should be able to know what he/she can expect from his/her partner, if OP did not know she was dating a "Juvenile-Douche" maybe she did not know him that well
