It must depend on the school. I remember guys and girls were split up in my school so that they could learn about gender-specific things. Which is a terrible idea imo, for the longest times my guy friends didn't understand why periods were such a big deal because "it's only a little bit of blood, right?" I had to explain the PMS and cramps and sickness to them, and they were genuinely surprised. They had no idea.
