It's because you're Japanese... I understand. But seriously, why would somebody automatically think it was drugs? There's lots of reasons you might have blue hair: 1. Going to a costume party 2. Think it looks cool 3. Trying to impress someone

Regardless of how much hair colour shouldn't matter, you know that if you dye your hair a ridiculous bright colour you will attract this kind of negative attention. Also, it makes you less likely to get many jobs, as you look less professional. Therefore, YDI.

#36 - What if the OP is a young teenager? I'd think it be better to get the urge to have strangely coloured hair now, then when they're older and trying to get a job and be professional. Wouldn't you? There's negative attention, sure, and then there's people being just plain rude. Stares happen, and it does go with being overall noticed and standing out, but the father could have said something more appropriate too, even if you were/are on drugs.
