Today, I took my first day off in 3 weeks just so I can sleep in. The office secretary woke me up at 7.12 am with a page wishing me a nice day off. FML

Today, I woke up at 5:30 and made the half hour drive to work only to find out that it was my day off. After finally getting back home and into bed, my boss called, requesting that I come back to work since I was "already up". FML

Today, it was the first day of fall break from college, and I was really excited to sleep in and relax the entire weekend. Apparently my boss caught wind of my happiness and scheduled me 8am-2pm each day of break, "seeing how I don't have anything else to do." FML

Today, I finally had a day off in two weeks and I was excited about getting to sleep in. At 5am, my mom came in and knocked loudly. When I asked her what she wanted, she said she was checking to see if I was asleep. FML

Today, I got to sleep in late for the first time in 3 years, as wife took our two young daughters out of town to visit with her parents. I told my mother that I was really looking forward to being able to sleep in this morning. The phone rang at 7:30. It was my mother asking me how I slept. FML

Today, I worked 24 hours straight fixing my company's servers. After it was over, I breathed a huge sigh of relief and promptly fell asleep at my desk. My boss found me an hour later, refused to listen to me, and fired me for sleeping on the job. FML

So just because it's happened before means it can't happen to anyone else ever again? I've had similar situations, a friend called to say "Happy first day of winter break!" yesterday at 8am. I would be pissed at having so little days off, the secretary, and not silencing my pager/phone. I Love to sleep in when I can and not hear that dreaded alarm clock. My job sucks the life out of me. If I didn't balance/replenish myself, I wouldn't be good for anyone. Sorry OP, idk what you do, but awful job condition. I hope you get compensated for it somehow.

I know the feeling of finally getting a day off and thinking that you'll get to sleep in, only to be woken up by some inconsiderate jerk. Why do people feel that stuff like this is necessary early in the morning? I never call or text someone before 11am, unless it's a real emergency or something.
