Today, I'm an intern working in a company's reception area, which happens to have a coffee dispenser. As I'm the new girl, every client getting coffee wants to buy me one. I'm too polite to say no. It's 10:26 AM, and I'm on cup #17. FML

Keep letting them buy you coffee. Once you have cup #100 you get superspeed and can save everyone in case there is a fire.

Or just be honest and say I've already had coffee but your offer is very kind thank you

too polite to say no? I'm too polite to ever accept someone buying me something!

Have a coffee cup near you, and don't drink it. They will see you already have a coffee and hopefully not offer. If they do still offer, say you already have a coffee, and point to the one you left out

I agree with #28 - have a cup in your desk in plain view, then politely decline and say you already have some. And since you are getting regular offers, you can remove/hide the cup when you're ready for another coffee. :)

it is possible to politely decline a cup of coffee. no one to blame for having 17 cups except you for taking them. ydi.

You're probably not going to sleep for a couple of days.

Just keep the previous cup with you all the time. They'll realise you've had one already and won't make the offer. Tada!

"No thanks, I'm fine" or something along those lines. Is it really that difficult to say? You can't drink too much coffee, so you should start using this line...

Isn't it usually. You're too polite to accept the offer??
