my friends parents invite us all over for their daughters birthday to hang out and remember her, when she died 7 years ago, they do it every year.

you didn't have to go. don't be disrespectful I still celebrate my brothers birthday even tho he's been dead for 5 years my whole family gets together. it's part of still holding on to that little memory you have of them.
