Today, I filed my taxes. As a divorcée with children, I was supposed to get $3,500 back from the IRS. Alas, my ex's new wife already filed with my children, who don't live with her. I now owe the IRS $250. FML

Today, I finally was able to complete my taxes and I had a look at the IRS website to check my refund. They changed it from 1K to $10. FML

Today, I found out that they won't hold my stimulus for child support, only to find out that they withheld it to give it to me when I file my taxes. Which child support will take. FML

you can claim fraud and prove that the kids live with you and change that. she cant claim your kids on their taxes without having full custody. get online and call the irs helpline and they can help you more

If OP has full custody of get children, then the ex's new wife committed fraud. take her ass to court! OP, just don't forget the paper work that proves that you have full custody of your children.

Call irs, report her. She is completely in the wrong. Not only will she have to pay it back plus penalties and interest and they will not be able to claim the eic credit for 10 years.
