Today, I'm pregnant. So far, I have been criticized about 20 times for “making poor choices.” Not only did we use a condom, I’m also on the pill, and have an IUD. FML

A little spud juice and it’ll stop kicking, or come out waving the russian communist flag Jk, i kid. This sounds like an all around shitty coincidence but i’ve heard about IUDs being installed incorrectly causing them to offer no protection due to improper installation.

I think it's unusual, and may depend on the IUD but (very) generally you can do both. Just, like said, very unusual.
