Today, my dog was barking at a squirrel in the yard. I opened the door to let him chase the squirrel. I went to look at the dead squirrel and found out it was the neighbor's chihuahua. FML

People leave their dogs out in their backyards all the time. I don't particularly like it, but it's very common. I live in the city (on the outskirts, but not on an acreage or in a secluded by any means) and I have seen coyotes in my area many times, so it's not just a country thing. This is so sad, I feel teary just thinking about the poor doggie. I don't understand why people mark YDI other than to be ******* assholes.

That really sucks. What could possibly be going through your neighbor's head to just sit by and let such a terrible thing happen? That neighbor could have at least tried to frighten it off by making noise.
