Today, I found out that driving for 2 weeks on 3/4 of a tank doesn't mean my truck magically got more efficient, it means my gas gauge is broken. FML

least it wasn't your temperature gauge. My temperature gauge was faulty and would only go as high as the optimum working temperature for my car. Anyone who knows even the slightest thing about engines can probably guess how I found out that it was broken...

the light went off when the top head gasket blew. And yeah it was a coolant leak as well.

My gas gauge bounces back and forth, so at any given time I have to guess an 'average' of how much gas I have. I feel your pain, op. Hope you didn't get stranded!
