Night terror

By Help - 25/02/2023 07:00 - United States

Today, I'm officially at the point where I would do literally anything to have a pleasant dream, or at least one that's not absolutely fucking terrifying. I now know where the irrational fear of sleeping comes from. Anxiety can go fuck a duck. FML

Are you on any meds? Some meds can cause night terrors,

Maybe see about consulting a somnologist, because from the sound of it you’re hitting three out of four “See a doctor about this”-criteria for nightmare disorder.

I got put on a med a few years ago and immediately started having terrible nightmares. I usually have very entertaining dreams, so this was strange. I mentioned it to my sister who told me to tell my doctor immediately, and as soon as I got off the med, the nightmares went away. This very much can happen.

Prazosin helps with nightmares. I get them too

Yes!!!! I was having nightmares since childhood and once I got this I don't remember my dreams anymore or at least very rarely.

def see a doctor and if you sleep in a warm room, lower the temperature. my nightmares get horrendous when I overheat while sleeping

Definitely talk to your doctor about it. I was having them since childhood until I was mid 20s. I started meds for it and now rarely remember dreams which isn't often.
