Gratitude

Today, a little girl wandered into the glass-cleaning area of the pub I work at. It's a dangerous place for a little kid, so I took her hand and asked where her mum was. The kid starts screaming and the mother appears in the doorway shouting "GET AWAY FROM MY BABY!" FML

If she kept an eye on her child these situations could be avoided.

stupid woman shoulda watched what her kid was doing instead of letting her wander off by herself in a pub. The woman should be thankful you found the kid and were trying to get her back to her mom and not some crazy psycho that could have done who knows what. That is a crappy parent and should have thanked you not yelled at you like you were doing something you shouldn't have with her baby.

agreed the majority of parents just don't take the time to teach thier kids good manors anymore or basic need to know things

just wondering if you guys have kids.. cuz even if your a good parent or not.. kids wonder.. it only take a second to look away for your kid to walk away.. unless you leash the kid.. then y'all will say they are bad parents cuz they can't control their kids.. so yea.. they shouldnt have yelled... but I know as a kid I wondered away on accident and my parents are great parents...

75- just what I was thinking. I lol at teenagers lecturing experienced parents on their parenting skills

Even if we have no children of our own, we still have common sense. Common sense says: Keep child with you at all times when in public.

Way to lose your next employee of the month. That kid can make a mean cosmo.. Always puts the biggest and pinkest umbrella and spiral straw in it for me

never. take. a child's. hand. not taking a jab at you, but that just never ends well. XD

Yes. Next time just shove the child full force out of harms way, as opposed to trying to lead them to their parent calmly and safely. It leaves everyone less upset.

You can lead them back to their parent without taking their hand. I wouldn't allow my child to run freely, but I certainly wouldn't want a stranger touching or grabbing her either.

Or even stopped to have noticed OP's uniform. If he worked at the pub, I'm sure there's some kind if dress code or uniform. Why wouldn't the woman have noticed what OP was wearing, and stopped herself from freaking out? Obviously, no one's gonna be a creeper at work. >_>

If the kid's in a dangerous area, screw scaring the kid or upsetting the parents. I'd get the kid out of the dangerous area and then deal with it. I'd much rather a stranger take my kid's hand and drag them out of the dangerous area than sit there and try to talk to them in that area where they could get hurt.

Yes, don't take his or her hand. Grab the child by the EAR and DRAG them back to the parent(s). Guarantee there will be no claim of abduction with the git screaming.

You shouldn't of done that. it's obvious you were gonna look like a pedo. Should of just left her alone, it's her mum's responsibility anyways. /// O

i dont know if i in good conscience could just let a kid wander around in a bar...

Should HAVE*** come on I learned that rule in first grade and I still remember.

it was good that the OP was tying to help and if you didn't help that kid you would never know what could of happen to that kid even if there was nothin wrong

Of course she'll start screaming. Imagine being that young and a stranger grabs your hand.

true but the OP was just trying to help(And what does OP even mean everyone keeps saying it WHAT DOES IT MEAN!!) :P

Yeah. OP stands for Orange Penis.

The stupid **** shouldn't bring her child to a pub and let her wander. Awesome parenting skills.

god I hate parents like that ... dont watch their friggen kids but how dare you try to help?

Is that anyway to treat a valued customer?

rule number 1 don't touch someone else kid no matter what the reason. rule number 2 kids have gotta learn the hard way sometimes that they can't go/do whatever they want

I agree with rule #1.. Plus I would have freaked out a little too if some stranger was holding my daughter's hand while she flipped out... My kid wouldn't be loose in a pub, but whatever..
