Gratitude

Today, a little girl wandered into the glass-cleaning area of the pub I work at. It's a dangerous place for a little kid, so I took her hand and asked where her mum was. The kid starts screaming and the mother appears in the doorway shouting "GET AWAY FROM MY BABY!" FML

If she kept an eye on her child these situations could be avoided.

should have told her to keep her bloody child on a leash next time

just let the kid bust a glass and cut his hand open. he won't wander in there again. in all seriousness though, i fcking HATE parents like that. i also hate kids, but 99% of the time the parents are worse.

mum? really you couldn't take the time to type mom?

Did you take enough time to look at the location? In the UK they say "Mum" as opposed to the American "Mom", neither is better than the other one; they're both right.

if you checked the location of the OP, you'd see its in the UK, where we say 'mum', not 'mom' i'm impressed with your clear observational skills. Anyway, why is it such a big deal?

why was the kid in the pub anyways? and it would have been better not to have grabbed her hand but just asked where her mom was because children are taught to make a scene if a stranger grabs them.

And I thought I was irrisponsible

That's bad mother behavior for actually bringing her kid there...
