Gold digger

Today, my 6 year-old granddaughter was sitting on my lap, playing with the rings on my fingers. After a moment, she pointed to a gold ring with many jewels and said, "When you die, can I have that one?" FML

sometimes say things like that to my mom but i'm old enough that she knows i'm not entirely serious.. you should give it to her when you die and it'll mean the world to her and she'll remember how she wanted it since she was a little girl

Hahaha that is just too funny. Don't take it too hard, little girls love shiny sparkly things.

I've said that to my grandma since I was old enough to talk. That's one thing we always joke about.

its not a big deal at least she didn't say that she couldn't wait until you were dead

I didn't know that grandmothers even used fmylife....Awesome.

i agree with #9 there seems to be themes of FMLs for every week... like last week it was about toilets

Maybe FML is a big social experiment, where each week they approve a bunch of articles relating to a specific theme and see how people react? [/crazy conspiracy theory] Anyway yeah, kids don't understand the concept of death. Get over it. (Also what is it with comment forms that strip faux HTML? It's not that hard to call htmlspecialchars().)

#5, that's exactily what i thought! haha oh and it's exactily what i said to my grandma a long time ago!

So....? My grandma always tells me what she's going to give me when she dies...

A six-year-old doesn't really understand what death means, she just knows you won't need the ring anymore. ... Since you posted it I'm guessing you saw the funny side and knew that already, but since these things can be upsetting regardless, thought I should try and be nice/helpful.
