Family channels have issues

Today, I'm 16, my sister is 13 and our little brother is 9. Our parents just told us their plans to start a family vlog on YouTube, because, "It's made people rich. Don't you want to be rich?" I said I didn't want to be a part of such a humiliating enterprise, but they started filming me, as a "first family argument video." FML

I feel really sorry for you. YT family channels that included kids involve different forms of abuse. Escape it when possible cause it's an emotionally exhausting experience.

This only works if: -Everyone is on board with the decision and has good family values and are interesting and out of the box (think ladbaby) - Has a profession and offers free advice and possibly a small simple course ( Speech sister's, Safeintheseat, Psychedmommy and plenty more) - Are creative and come up with easy things to make and do. (Mothercould and the Dad Lab and lots of others) It doesn't just happen and is very few that make it. I'm sorry that your family is trying for a quick money grab but hopefully for your sake nothing will come from it 😊

Actually, an SNL style spoof of the presidential family's daily might not be the worst idea ever. Although I doubt it'd be terribly exciting now with Biden. The Obama's might have been a better support for a family comedy. Or that other guy you had between Obama and Biden. You could probably get some nervous laughter from their antics.

didn't SNL do skits about the talking cheeto? give him a catchphrase and lots of movement safe for his wig and just let him go. I mean we got 4 good years in Canada for free comedy.

They did do spoofs of the other guy's two oldest sons. They did miss out on capitalizing on the comedy gold based on the hilarious dynamic between Tiffany and Baron (Barron, Barren?) Probably a sibling rivalry for the ages!

yeah, it doesn't work like that. YT has rules about subscribers and watch hours, that have to be met before you can monetize a channel. then you pretty much have to post all the time to keep your channel at the top of the listing. basically your parents are trying to be mentally and emotionally abusive. good luck

it says right in the terms of conditions of YouTube that vloggers must have the written and oral permission of minors, if they do not want to be filmed they are not allowed to post it without the permission.

These channels are famous for abuse followed by..."it's just a prank bro". Maybe try and nudge the direction of this so it succeeds in a healthy way.

I’m not saying you should do it or that it’s right, but if it was me I would start saying objectionable words when they film you so YouTube will remove the videos. Either that or keep a Bluetooth speaker on you and blast Disney or Nintendo music when filmed. Then the videos will definitely get removed.
