Today, my mother still hasn't figured out that my ex is a manipulative cow who has no interest in a relationship with her, apart from her usefulness as a babysitter, and sympathetic cash machine, but when I try to tell her that, she gets mad at me. The kid isn't even mine, it's from the guy she cheated with. FML

It's probably as close to a grandchild as she's going to get (from you, at least.) She can hope against hope that the sperm that started the kid was yours.

Just the way you’re talking about the situation is off putting. You should figure out better ways to get your thoughts across. Might help other people listen to you, etc.
