Dammit

Today, after a month of planning, I started to tease my boyfriend of 3 years about the wonderful anniversary plans I had made for us. It was a secret, so I let him try and guess. He said, "As long as it's not a spa day. That would suck, I'd never go." It's a spa day. That I've already paid for. FML

FYL for already paying for it, but YDI for not knowing what he likes.

Take your best friend and get him something else and just don't tell him about your original idea. It's not that big of a deal. P.S. You'd think after 3 years you'd know if he liked spa days or not.

well DUH he is a guy. might as well have dragged him to the women's bathroom as well...

hahaha! yes they would. what is wrong with a little bit of pleasure? a real man is confident enough to feel good about going to a spa, or doing other GF stuff. lame and weak guys get all freaked out by the idea because they think it automatically makes them gay. what a weird world.

Why would you think that he would enjoy a spa day? He is your boyfriend, not one of your girlfriends. So what if it is already paid for. Give to someone as a wedding gift, (let the new groom be miserable, then you won't have to hear about it), treat one of your girlfriends for her birthday, or have one of your girlfriends pay you for half and go with her. There is no way this is a FML, this could not be more YDI. This man has been your boyfriend for three years. How could you not know that he is not a chick and would not enjoy being pampered girly-style?

Guys usually don't like spa days... And if he's your boyfriend of THREE years, you should definitely know that

Next time you could try something that you think HE would like, and not something that YOU would like.

Uh why would you think he would want to go to the spa. Most guys don't and if you've been with him that long you should know if that's something he would actually like.

You've been dating him for three years and didn't know he wouldn't enjoy going to a spa because...?

1. No guy likes spa visits. 2. You should know after three years that he doesn't like spas. 3. YDI

YDI. You and every other girl who gets so offended when their boyfriend doesn't like something incredibly girly like that, YDI. If you know for a fact that your boyfriend is into something like that, then fine, guys are allowed to like the occasional girly thing, and vice versa. But unless you're sure, you're just projecting your own desires onto him. Would you like it if he gave you some really really skanky hooker outfit as a gift? Most girls wouldn't, because that would be him projecting his desires onto you instead of respecting you as an individual. Well this sort of B.S. is the exact same thing.

You've been with him for three years and you still don't know what he likes/dislikes to do...? Anyways, you can take a friend to the spa and do something else with him. Something you both like to do.
