Today, my boyfriend invited me over to his house. I was planning on breaking up with him while at his house. Turns out, it was a proposal party. I'm now engaged because it would've been rude to say no in front of his family that had flown in. FML

Today, my sister broke up with her boyfriend of 4 years because he hadn't "popped" the question. I've just spent the last 2 months helping him plan the perfect proposal. FML

Today, at a restaurant, I happily watched as my boyfriend of three years got down on his knees and proposed to me. Before I could say yes and hug him, a girl flung herself at him, kissed him and shouted, "Yes!" With us still highly confused, she then ran away. FML
Today, my best friend, the man who I've been in love with for nine years, finally told me he loves me and wants to spend the rest of his life with me. Unfortunately, it was while he was using me to practice proposing to his girlfriend. FML

I love how everyone keeps saying that you should have beat his ass and such, when there are several movies that people love with the same concept. Sorry to say, but that's life. People you love aren't always going to love you back and they may find the person they love a little to close to home. Wanna know why the divorce rate is high? It's because people are afraid they are going to hurt the other's feelings, which of course they are, so they decide to stay with someone they don't love to avoid issues like OPS situation. That's not natural. You don't get to "choose" who you love, it just happens.
