Today, working as a cashier, I had a customer come through and ask to purchase a bag of ice. I asked, "Eight pound or twenty pound?", referring to the clearly marked weight of the bags. He replied, "What's the difference?" FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, while working as a cashier at a fast food restaurant, a customer asked me how many chicken nuggets were in our 6 count chicken nuggets. FML
The customer is always something
Today, working in retail, I noticed a customer looking for an item, so I walked up to them and asked, "Is there something I can help you find?" He replied, "Did I ask for your fucking help?" FML
Coinbased
Today, I rang up a customer’s items. The total came out to $24.67. She handed me a bag full of coins and looked at me expectantly. I asked if she had any other payment methods; she got irritated and said ,“If I did, I wouldn’t have given you this, stupid!” I had to count them. She was still 6 dollars short. FML
Change
Today, I was at work, when this guy came in and paid for his ice cream, then handed me a dollar. I've never gotten a tip before, so I looked at him and said, "Thank you so much, I appreciate it." He stared at me with a weird look for a moment, and then said, "Can I just get that in quarters?" FML
Today, I work at a general store and a customer came in trying to bargain a set price of an item. The item? A 50 cent candy bar. He wanted it for 34 cents. This is not the first time he's done this. FML
Today, at my retail job, a woman came to my till with her purchases. After I scanned all her items, she handed me two small bags. One was filled with nickels and dimes. The other was filled with cents. Her total was $28.53. The coins amounted to $22.30. FML
Today, a customer bought several drill bits. When I asked him, "Do you want a bag for your bits?" he just stared at me uncomfortably, apparently thinking I was trying to come onto him. FML
Presumption
Today, I went to a corner store to restock my chocolate stash. A guy from work walked in to see me and the cashier arguing about the amount of candy I was trying to buy with a jar of pennies. He took one look at me and said, "That time of the month, eh?" FML
Today, I went grocery shopping. Being a bartender, I had a huge wad of dollar bills from cash tips. As I was counting them at the register, I looked at the cashier and joked, "You probably think I'm a stripper or something." He looked me up and down and said, "Uh... hell no." FML
Basic bitch
Today, a customer yelled at me because I gave her a wrinkled bag. I work in retail, and the bags are all cheap plastic. She wouldn't stop, even when I gave her three different bags. FML

Yeah, maybe in the UK. Too bad this is in the United States and referring to the "clearly marked weights" on the bags.
awkwardloveannie 28
but it took place in the US.

Maybe I'm just delirious, but I think the comment was changed. It's too late to add an edit to my first one, but perhaps this will explain it.

Regardless of what they meant I don't see how this is FML worthy. So you had a customer ask a stupid question. It probably took two seconds to clear up, oh poor you. YDI for being whiny.

I'm hoping this is what he was referring to as well.

I would also assume he was asking about the price difference.

not all of the people in the U.S. are idiots.
CrazyGirlfriend 21
as a cashier, I get asked that question a lot.....by dumb and smart people. usually they both mean between the two prices. nothing here states that the price of ice was known to the customer in any way.

Being a cashier also, I'm more used to stupid questions so it's easy for me to not notice a smart one for a change

#3 you're the idiot. He could have been asking "how many DOLLARS more is the 20 pound bag than the 8 pound bag?"...

... People these days ... *facepalm*
SmuggletheBudgie 15
implying that before 'these days' stupid people did not exist?

No. It's more like **** his life(the customer). Then again, he might just be asking about the price difference without stating it clearly.

I've had customers tell me my u scan was broken because it wouldn't move past the "quantity" page for produce. They didn't know what to enter.

You should have made something up about how the 8 pound bag is made from ancient iceberg run off. The 20 pound bag from distilled red sea water.
