Today, working as a cashier, I had a customer come through and ask to purchase a bag of ice. I asked, "Eight pound or twenty pound?", referring to the clearly marked weight of the bags. He replied, "What's the difference?" FML

Maybe the customer meant the difference in price?

Hopefully you responded with the answer 12 pounds.

should have hit him with both bags, and then ask, can you tell the difference now.

Enjoy the customer's joke ...... hahaha

"At least 1728 BTU (1812 kJ) of cooling ability." You should have charged him for the 20# bag, regardless. You can fix stupid, but you sure as hell can profit from it.

That is also illegal.

#52, technically, yes, but if the idiot doesn't know the difference between 8 and 20 pounds, how is he going to know to complain to the police? See, it's a crime, but it's a perfect crime ;)

I did the same thing before...I just said doesn't matter and obviously I was charged for the larger bag so they could make more money...it's simple logic..

these types of questions make me want to punch customers in the face. to be honest.

This is one of those trick questions like "When was the war of 1812 fought?" Right?

I had someone ask me yesterday what an avocado is.

I'd imagine OP saying something to the effect of, "Well, you're right. What IS the difference? We're all just born to die, sir," then walk out of the store with her head hung low while "Adagio for Strings" plays softly in the background.

OK ydi clearly asking about the price.
