Today, while doing the grocery shopping with my boyfriend we came across another woman also out shopping, who looked shockingly like me despite her being another race, hair color and the like. The second he saw her, he blurted out, ''Oh, it's a pretty version of you!'' FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Tinder surprised
Today, I watched as my Tinder date arrived at the coffee shop and mistook another woman for me. He never realized she was the wrong girl, and they spent the entire date together before leaving. The only similarity between me and the other woman was our hair. FML
Today, my girlfriend told me I have a doppelganger on campus who looks just like me, but way cuter. She got his phone number. FML
Today, while standing in line at the grocery store, I noticed that myself and the woman in front of me were wearing the same shirt. As she was about to leave, I said to her "Hey! I'm wearing that shirt!" She turned to me and replied, "Not in THIS size you aren't." FML
Today, I was walking along the street and passed a young couple. Over my shoulder I heard the girl say to her boyfriend, "Would you still love me if I looked like her?" FML
His type
Today, I met my boyfriend's parents for the first time. His mom stared at me throughout dinner before finally blurting out, "I'm sorry, I can't get past the fact that you look just like his ex!" It turns out I do. FML
Today, I saw my girlfriend at the store and joyfully greeted her. She got really mad at me - it was her identical twin sister, who I still cannot tell apart from my girlfriend. We've been dating for three years. FML
Today, my kid made a new friend at school. When I asked her to describe her new friend, she said, "She looks kinda like you, only pretty." FML
Well Played
Today, I found out that my boyfriend of two years is dating another girl. Not only do she and I share the same hair and eye color, but we also happen to have the same first name. FML
Today, I went to the store to buy some groceries. While I was at the store, an employee came up to me and said, "You're beautiful!" When I came home I told my husband what had just happened. My husband then asked, "What was wrong with him?" FML
She definitely heard
Today, I had to go to the mall for a quick errand. While there one of my friends who works at a phone booth was there and I stayed for a little bit chatting with him. While chatting, a girl passed by. She was so pretty that I blurted out, "What a woman!" out loud. Turns out it was my ex. FML

Aw OP don't be disgruntled, I'm sure there's a prettier version of him out there somewhere.

What a hurtful thing to say. I'm sure he didn't mean what he was implying but, shit, man, think before you speak!

He said "pretty good version", not a " better version". You people are acting like the bf said something outrageous.

Look again, #31. He said "pretty version". While not the most outrageous thing to say, it's still a pretty cringe-y thing to blurt out.
False_Stupidity 42
Yeah but OP might be the gorgeous version whereas random chick is just pretty.

What he should have said is that no matter how similarly she looks to you, YOU are prettier. I swear some men need lessons on being good boyfriends. All the same, some women need lessons on being good girlfriends. Why is this not a thing yet?

You don't compliment someone by insulting another. That's wrong. Looks like you need lessons on being a decent human.
Miss_Whipped 43
That's hardly an appropriate assumption based on my comment. I was saying that he should tell OP that OP is prettier because of the fact that he chose to be in a relationship with her. How does that mean I need lessons on being a decent human being?

Where do you see an insult 36? She said he should tell his gf she is prettier. That's not insulting anyone. He wouldn't be calling her ugly.

I thought 4 said op needed to tell the boyfriend she was prettier, which I thought was kind of weird and mean. I misread. My bad.

Obviously, if they looked similar, the margin of how much the mentioned girl is "prettier" than her should be considerably small. If someone said you looked like Beyoncé, but not as beautiful, would you still take it as an insult?

Thank you #38 for understanding my point. I appreciate that. However, due to the fact that some people on here don't know how to read, my comment still got buried. It is what it is. :)

Really not a fan of people who put down their partner like this... It may have been a joke but what's the point of being with someone who doesn't lift you up.

I'm sure you're positive 100% of the time

It sounds like he didn't mean it - he just had a foot-in-mouth moment. My husband has had plenty of those; his filter is a little delayed sometimes. It's so darn cute when he realizes and tries to recover, I just laugh. It's good for couples to not take themselves so seriously. :-)

9, there's a difference between being positive all the time and being hurtful & negative. You don't need to be positive all the time, but don't put your person down either.

Doing the groceries???

How exactly does one "do" groceries?
Sansational_ 18
Well, at least there's probably some uglier versions of you too.

How long does he have in his contract before he can upgrade?
