Today, my sister punched me in the face. My dad was actually annoyed with me when I told him. He said I'll never be a "real man" if I can't take a hit from a girl. FML

Get your sister to punch your dad in the face to see how it feels

It's sad to see how sexism is still so strong in society :/ Of course you're only a real man if you never show emotion and piss in the corner to mark your territory *sarcasm off*

Your dad sounds like a huge asshole. Unfortunately, this just shows how both men and women are held to completely asinine standards of behavior.

Either way, dad or sister but someone needs to be punched! for reals!

I would factory reset her phone to teach her a lesson

Yeah because it's TOTALLY okay for a woman to hit a man, but not the other way around. I get that he should've punched her back, but seriously. That doesn't mean he needs to "man up", she shouldn't have hit him. And before women start jumping on my ass about what I just said, I'm female too. Women are fighting for equal rights that men have, but then want to cry and scream when they hit a man and the man hits back. I understand there things like abuse and all that, but men can abused as well. Respect is a two way street, and men have rights that need to be respected just as much as women's rights do. Not one more than the other.

In the sense that 'male violence is taken more seriously than female violence because all women are assumed to be weaker than all men', yes. Privilege isn't a blanket statement that's invalidated by exceptions - it's a societal tendency to favor one over another. Men are assumed to be stronger. This can work against us, but it can lead to things like a physical job being given to an unqualified man who can't lift a certain amount of weight without becoming exhausted easily, while a qualified woman who could easily do it is passed over.

Man up yourself, jerk.

Let's play a drinking game: how much you would like to give the dad a slap in the face? Alcohol poisoning may ensue.

Just return the favor my friend

Your dad's right
